The grand EGA convoy/bum a lift thread (east coast)

I've finally come to my senses & realised that I need to go to EGA this year. Due to time restrictions I'll need to fly in & out. I'm putting out some early feelers to see if: - anyone has room in their tent for a giant yeti man (long shot I know) - anyone can help out with a lift to & from the airport - anyone can transport my camping gear to the site as I can't fly with it. Big asks I know & anyone offering help with be duly compensated. Thanks

    Kicking off

Good one Johnny. There are a few keen gardeners in the Hunter/ Central Coast area on the forums. Ayahuasca Vine (Bannisteriopsis cappi), Chacruna particularly the Psychortria 'Nexus' hybrid, Acacia obtusifolia &San Pedro etc (Trichocereus spp.) are all well suited to your climate & should be a stample in any ethno garden, in my opinion.

  6. I've been meaning to start a thread detailing what we've been up to at the nursery and to put up some cool photos. Finally got around to it Cacti Over the last couple of days I have re-listed over 200 cacti with more to come shortly. Get 'em while you can. Photos will be added for all listed cacti too. Strains already listed include: E. lageniformis - 'Hans', 'Jess', 'Con', 'Tim', ' ', 'Bruce', 'Kai', 'Eileen'. E. peruviana - 'San Pedro de Pasco', ssp. puquiensis KK1689, KK2152, 'Los Gentiles', 'Len', 'Icaro', KK1688, KK338. E. pachanoi - 'Mike', '2', 'Rob', 'Omar', KK2150, 'Alf', ' '. E. sp. 'Lance', E. uyumpompensis , E. cephalomacrostibalis KK1421, E. macrogona KK2151, E. tarmensis KK2148, E. glauca KK336, E. l ongispinus KK1670, E. glauca, E. sp. ' Juul's Giant' x E. pachanoi ' '. E. lageniformis & E. pachanoi 30cm - 1m for pick up only have also been added. Let me know if you're looking for something that is not currently listed & I'll see what I can do Note that cacti are now sold as either standard size (75mm pot) or large (140mm pot). It was becoming troublesome to track the size of them on the webstore as they grew from one size category to the next. Standard cacti are usually at least 10cm, although a couple of strains may be slightly shorter, while large cacti are generally at least 15cm. The photos below show some of the bigger cacti available for pick up, including a funky pup on a E. lageniformis JAC007 Wax Melt and a selection of recent E. pachanoi 'Super Pedro' propagation cuts Other Listings I have just re-listed 'Gold' and 'Black' Banisteriopsis caapi strains. See photos below of B. caapi 'Gold' including a cutting with a cool mutant leaf. We have a bunch of cool plants that will be listed shortly, including Pausinystalia yohimbe, Theobroma cacao, Moringa oleifera, Centella asiatica and Gynostemma pentaphyllum, and I will shortly be propagating Alicia sp. (Black Ayahuasca Vine). cheers, Toast

What's the best thing that's ever happened to you

Interesting thread, some amazing stories. Here's some of my highest & lowest points in chronological order. Low point - my grandma having a stroke, being left partially paralysed & unable to speak. Going from being totally independent, driving herself around, to being stripped of all her dignity. High point - watching my son being born & grown into an awesome young kid. High point - finally biting the bullet & ending a 15 year toxic relationship. Low point - adjusting to co-parenting my son and depression that resulted from it. High point - starting a new relationship with a way stronger connection than the previous. Low point- finding out my dad has untreatable terminal cancer. The last four events occurred in the last 12 months or so. It's been a fucking roller coaster of a year but a bunch of the awesome people I've met here have helped me get through it.

A tip for the cubing of postage parcels. Make your box an irregular shape & they don't cube it, just charge by weight. A postal employee told me this. It needs to be obviously irregular though, it was suggested to the you take a regular box, stick a row of used toilet rolls along the top then enclose them in cardboard, creating a 'tented' type of irregular shape. I've never gone to that extreme but if you're making your own packaging from recycled boxes it easy to make it irregular. Strange policy than saves a lot of money.

    Show your tattoos!

No Sally, that would be hand poked. This was done with a machine, one dot at a time, as opposed to being outlined then shaded. Also, freehand usually refers to when the design is drawn straight on to the skin when a marker, without using a stencil that has the design traced or printed on to it.

It was a great day, awesome turn out. It was a shame I had to leave so early. Appreciated everyone's generosity around the picnic area. Next time I'll try to be less munted & more talkative, no guarantees though. Thanks to Horus for suggesting the location, great spot.
