If that doesn't work i totally understand, I just dont want to miss two in a row. I have been meaning to track down some information that you guys have

Brug or Datura ID please
Paradoxical replied to Paradoxical's question in Plant Identification (non-cactus)
Wow great responses, thanks so much for the ID- and the warnings more importantly!! -
HI there folks, I found this plant growing on a lunch break and was wondering if any one knew exactly what it was. I was thinking it looked like a Datura or a Brugmansia but I have not dealt with either of them very much, but would love to add a small bit to a smoking mix if its correct. Here is some info: Its growing under a larger tree in a garden. The stems have white hairs all over them. The plant is about 1.7m tall. the flowers didn't really have any scent. for the rest please see the attached photos. Feel free to ask for more information - I can easily pop down a have another look. Cheers, P

Hi guys, I have been keeping an eye on the FREE spore print/live culture trading thread as of late as I want to delve a bit deeper into mycology. I was watching the topic and getting an email when new content was added, but now when I click the link it says I don't have permission, and I also can not find the topic anywhere, even when I try and search. Has there been a change in the rules, like locking out members with low post count? or has the thread itself been deleted?

Brilliant!!! Thanks!

Mine are slow as well. How old are the seedlings in the pictures?
-
I had one seed put of four germinate, seeds were from herbalistics I think. Had to keep them in high humidity in a takeaway food container for a couple of weeks, with some GA3. the seedling is about three weeks old now - small but healthy. I will put photos up in the next couple of days. I also got some herbage and had a go, but it was ground to a fine powder and was hard to pack cones - left me and a mate feeling lightly stoned with no paranoia Also keep an eye out as I am possibly moving country In the next 6 months so unfortunaltly for me (luckily fir some one else) I will have to sell it

Hi planthelper, Good to know about the heat. I love chamomile tea and would rather grow my own than buy it. I have also read that German chamomile can inhibit cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) and cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4), possibly enhancing the effects of other herbs that have active constituents that are processed by cytochrome P450 class's - such as Tagetes. also a little evidence that extracts of german chamomile can help Morphine dependence. http://faculty.ksu.edu.sa/18856/Medicinal%20Plants/German%20Camomile.pdf

Brilliant! very cheap $2 for 100 seeds including postage. I have heard that using crushed up egg shells around the bottom of plants can stop snails and slugs - as they wont cross it. I was told this by some old pot grower back home. Im going to give that a try. Cheers

WTB Kratom plants or seeds in New Zealand
Paradoxical replied to Paradoxical's topic in Seed & Plant Swaps
Hey centipede, That's great news, are they all M .speciosa? Do you have an excess of seedlings that you would be willing to trade once they got a bit bigger and more stable? Very glad to hear it's not illegal in nz -
Hey guys and gals.. I am wondering if any of the new Zealand members out there have any seed or plant cuttings that they would be interested in selling to me? I have a friend in NZ that is willing to look after the plant for me until I move there. Or alternatively just making contact with some NZ folk who have the plant, so I can organise a future trade... Cheers

Yes please, pm'd -
I have just started to grow this herb. I initially had a few problems getting good viable seed, but have over come that now. Tagets lucida apparently synergises with Cannabis and tobacco. I have done a little bit of reading on this and discovered why this might be. Among other things T.lucida contains Methyl chavicol (AKA estragole). What I can conclude is that methyl chavicol is inactivated by the cytochrome P450’s – CYP1A2 AND CYP2A6. Apparently nicotine and cannabis both inhibit CYP2A6, therefore maybe allowing stronger effects of this herb. German Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) inhibits CYP1A2. I got this info from here: http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23400#ixzz1Zg2XSn2O Combination of tagtes and these might be the most interesting way to approach this herb. Also apparently the herb is only active fresh. I haven’t tried this yet as my plants are still rather small, but I will and get back to you.
