Photoblasticity of Lophophora williamsii - Help Urgently needed for TAFE Assignment
2Deep2Handle replied to 2Deep2Handle's topic in Cacti & Succulents
EG i am only concerned weather the seeds sprout or not....not how they grow...... I could do my phd for I.T, but id rather keep finishing off my cruisy dip hort stuff....might look at further studies again one day when im a little older... In terms of germinating them in this temp in Far Nrth NSW, im doing it inside, on 3 sep shelves, and 2 chambers are lit from 5 pm until 7am, and then total darkness. Would this be the right photoperiod of light for germination you think kadakuda?- 8 replies

It was my post EG, in regards to trading with cam/chef. I was angry and posted without thinking,Max Caddy pointed it out to me and I appolagised for saying it, although did not edit it out, as i did indeed say it, and to remove it, in my opinion was only trying to hide from my own mistake.....feel free to remove it and grant warn point if you feel it is necessary. Again SO sorry to anyone who read the post in question. It was very out of charachter for me. Judge me if you must ANyone who didnt see my post the other day, chef has since made MORE than good on his trades with me. While we are at it....i still owe someone from a VERY long time ago...GoGoGadget.....pm me mate when you read this Please people no more arguing! <3 to all....even Chef Back to the Garden! EDIT: if people are getting warn points for old posts, (seems to me like posts associated with Pyslo/Chef trading problem) then it is only fair i receive one for that post. WTF went down yesterday?...actually. it doesnt sound good...so feel free to refrain from unlightening me actually.

Chef/ rumple foreskin made good on his trades with me, and has done so for apporimatly the last fortnight... He was in contact with me after he was exposed, fixed me up the trades he owed me, and more than accomadated me for making me wait He then sent the goods out very promptly after he said he would Thanks Chef, and sorry i took so long to tell everyone hes all good...... i think you should unlock him Torsten, unless you feel it is still necessary, although like i said, he MUCH MORE than fixed me up, and could feel a genuine sense of remorse and self hate at what he had done through his PM's

Taken today. Sowed 9th December 2011. Grafted 27th December 2011. I had 2 going along until about 3 months ago i accidently knocked one off which has already rooted and stared growing again and is much bigger than its seedling counterparts. Cops 1inch bottom feed of pretty strong miracle grow every 3rd-4th day. Seasol once a fornight, also bottom feed. Undercover always. Filtered full light, with the occaisonal few hours of 48watt CFL (210watt equiv)) 5000k Nelson Bulb/s (sometimes it goes under a home-made deck of 4 of em). I also try and move it onto hot concrete while im home. Was/is my first ever peres graft, and was done for the comp!

ive done rusticia and tobacum through all seasons....its all about pot size ive found....if you keep a rusticia root bound it will flower and seed (profusiously) when it is like 40cm no matter the time in season(ive got some seeding right now on little 30cm plants if anyone wants some free seed?). tobacum, will stay small (like 50cm-1m) if kept in small pots, but will take subtancially longer to seed in colder and shorter day season. Will grow quite large (2-3m) if given plenty of room to grow. Be careful with all Nicotiana(most species i suspect). I grew several species 2 seasons ago, and have been pulling out new babies continuously from my gardens ever since lol (bit like Datura strammonium) all my chillis also came back from mosaic tobacco virus, which i suspect also came from a bunch of wild trussed tommy toe tomatoes that popped up near my chilli crop, which i stupidly and inquisitivly let grow. . I have never actually seen my tobaccos (all Nicotiana) get MTV, which is wierd, although i have had phitophoric blight(post emergent 'damping off') wipe out several tobacums (go all yellow and mushy and immediatly severly wilt and die), when they were quite established (but rootbound need i add) EDIT: Avoid foilar spraying of solonacae family plants, and try to avoid soil flicking up onto stems and leaves when watering pots/beds with them. bottom-feed if possible (i keep all my little Nicotiana's in little 170mm pots in trays with about 2 inches of water at all times) Nicotiana loves to drink!

Well finally time for me to get involved in this thread, considering ive grown almost all varieties, and made sauce from most. Last batch had fresh peeled apple in it, but like all good secrets quantities not revealed. I either use fresh skinned tomatatoes, or 5 peeled limes (and the rind of 1 gets cooked with the chilli pods), for more exotic white meat chilli sauces. Ingredients:jar jalapeno pickled 4-6 tomatoes 20-60 bhut jolokias ginger powder 5-8 cloves of garlic grape seed oil olive oil 4-8 challotts pinch of salt Method: De-seed (can make dangerously hot by leaving seeeds in) bhut jolokias, and process with garlic and challots in blender until a light pulp. Sweat the chillis and caramalise chalotts(or substitute 2 finely-chopped onions) (medium-high simmer for about 15 minutes) in a light drizzel of a mixture of about 50/50 grape/olive oil, Blend tomatoes and add to saucepan. Add ginger and the juice of the jar of jalapenos. (optional) add 1-2 table spoons of sweet chilli (optional)add any other desired flavours or spices.(note some may optimally need to be added last if heat destroys them) Simmer for 5-10 minutes Stand until hot..NOT steamy hot. Blend until froth starts to appear. Simmer on high for 1-6 hours.
