sascacheuan replied to Huachu Ma's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Hi huachuma. Great collection!! Wich is your seedling of psycho0 crossing??. is It growing faster than others seedlings??. -
I live in Europe like you . My country I tell you by pm. Good new you have psycho0 genetics!!
-
It is a interesting experiment but I think its so woody to stick fine the scion . Succulent tissues perhaps doesnt deal well with normal tissues of pereskia.
-
I know a tricho cutting could survive a long trip, but it weights so much and an mailing is expensive too. I have received seeds and plants from many different countries around world without any problem. My country has "good" customs.

sascacheuan replied to Philocacti's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Hi, Has someone a cutting of psycho0 for trade or sell??. I would like to try this strain for grafting. Great thread!. -
is this a fungal infection or something else?
sascacheuan replied to Caudata's topic in Cacti & Succulents
I think this disease is produced by a bacterial infection. Perhaps erwinia sp. or pseudomonas sp. -
Zelly's trich crosses, got pics? post here please
sascacheuan replied to mushroomman's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Hello AZS. It seems you have several hundreds of trichos. Have you thought to do a selection??. Perhaps you have there a champion in something. For example, I am searching a clone which it may be fast growing, cold hardy, wet soil tolerant., etc... Fast growing would be the easiest trait to recognize. -
Perhaps I get seeds of this plant soon. I keep you informated...

I think that t. melanosporum grows better on "quercus ilex" roots than Q. suber. In Spain the best places for tuber culture, are zones of high altitude(above 600m over sea level), chilly temperatures (no more of 30ºC in summer), mediterranean rainy season and sandy lime soils.

Hi, The last week i have collected a big bunch of E. distachya seeds. There are from three phenotypes, yellow berry ( uncommon), orange berry and red berry (the most common). http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20910 This year have been good for ephedras. There are many years that plants dont produce any seed. If you want to purchase some, pm and I will tell you more details ;).

History behind the merger of Trichocereus to Echinopsis...
sascacheuan replied to gtarman's topic in Cacti & Succulents
I am not a botanist but Although trichocerus genus is close genetic related to echinopsis, trichocereus are like a "succulent trees" and echinopsis are "succulent small shrubs". Genus nomenclature should mark this ecologic differences. -
How do you pronounce this plant name properly?
sascacheuan replied to gtarman's topic in Ethnobotany
Perhaps "cni" is similar to german word "Knie". I learned a little latin at HighSchool, although grammar is a hell, pronounciation is so similar to spanish or italian. If you read it like as you are reading a spanish word, you can pronounce whatever latin name so accurate. -
Hello. I want to show us the brands of chimo that i have purchased to Lilithv Zamorano San Carlenio. El recio apurenio. Morichal. El gran Bufalo. El Carrasquero. Tigrito ICE, mint flavored, the best for me: Chimo is a good alternative to smoking. I can calm my smoking craving, chewing a bit of chimo and it taste better than chewing than tobacco powder.

Trichocereus Chiloensis or Atacamensis??.
sascacheuan posted a question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
Hello, Long time ago, a chilean contact sent me a packet of trichocereus atacamensis seeds. Now the plants are three years old, two of them grafted onto pereskiopsis, and they seem to me more chiloensis than atacamensis. I almost prefer that they may be chiloensis, i have read that are more cold hardy than Atacamensis, and mor tolerant to wet soils. What do you think?? Atacamensis or Chiloensis?. -
Spores of pythium or Phytophora are like Matrix, they are everywhere. They are in the air you breathe, on your dress, floating in front of your eyes.... Peganum are the most sensible specie i have seen to soil fungus. Its like a canary in a mine.

Hello gwalchgwyn.I am searching a rare native peganum from North America, its called peganum mexicanum and grows int Texas and New Mexico. Have you ever seen over there??. http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=PEME http://www.worldbotanical.com/peganum.htm I search this specie long ago. Illustro, you must to use fungicide, the most common cause of early death of peganum seedlings are produced by fungus. Put your seedlings to direct sun, and when you water it, dont wet the little stem. Water next to stem but never wet it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damping_off

Hello. I have Atropa baetica seeds for sale or trade. The seeds are produced by my plants, not wildcrafted. If you are interested, send a private. post with pics of my plants: http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=34834&view=findpost&p=410538 best regards.

hello. i would like to share with us some pics of my A. baetica grown for me. This specie grows in a few places in the South of Spain, mainly Andalusia, and North Morocco. Leaves are so similar to A. belladona, but the flower is yellow and the shape are quite different. This specie can thrive in conditions warmer and drier than A. Belladona and its so easy to cultivate. It flowers the second year and its flowering from may to almost September producing many berries. It can holds hot temperatures but doesnt like direct sun. Plants 1 moth old and seedling in the corner. Plant sprouting in winter, second year. Flowering. Flower. berry I hope you like it ;).

I think that mirtillo is still alive but the stem has lost all the chlorophylle and its fully woody. Perhaps It can live in this state for so long. I havent cut off the roots.
