    More market finds

A couple young Myrtillo proved hardy for me here outdoors over winter. Plants didn't like it and got discolored, but no rot. Maybe it's something else BF.
  2. +1 for Siberian Motherwort seedling.

SAB & Koda got raided today

Sorry to hear you got fucked around T. Sounds like you had nothing to worry about anyway, plus you learned some cool things about police dogs

    Ethnobotanicals & dogs

Staffie x collie here. Has occasionally fertilized the odd pot near her kennel but she's never hurt a plant. That tails gonna end up spiked one day though I think her taste is more Trichosurus and less Trichocereus.
  5. Damnit martin! Some ferocious last minute bidding there.. Sorta glad I lost though as I probably shouldn't spend that kinda munnies on a super cool cactus. Ah well
  6. Yar bloody idiots bidding it up early. Already almost past my limit

Looking for nice wood to carve (NZ only)

Garage sales and op shops.. Old and often native timber that just needs a sand. If you have the time and somewhere to store the wood I'm sure there is plenty fallen limbs out there. Why don't you hit my pa up? He has the wood, tools and knowledge plus would be more than keen to show you some stuff. You can have some wormwood pieces if you want, they aren't that thick but pipes, flutes, rings etc are all a possibility.

how to take good pics for id'ing

good idea Try and get photos of as many parts of the plant as possible: Growing tips, flowers, seeds, etc if possible. Describe the environment the plant was growing in. An object for scale is a good idea, something like a bic lighter or pen is pretty universal.

    Looking for Scelly

yar Herbalistics helped me out with seed of about 5 species of Sceletium including tortuosum, good germination rates too. I have also heard a lot of good things about Psylo Dread and his kanna cuttings.

  13. the bullshit to second ratio in that video is astounding.. i lost count of all the inaccuracies etc. is that the whole thing? a two minute vilificaton of SAB? Looks like they were out to slander and stir from the beginning and it didn't matter how much T or anyone else wanted to help them present an unbiased story or at least one showing both sides.. media scum do it again. loved the comment from Justin btw, right on. hope they dont let the plants they bought die..

    Leafy Ethno Photo/Grow Log

Found a couple of big bushes of these in a local garden, seem good for the climate here. Good to see that they take so readily from cuttings as I had tried growing from seed but flooded the tiny seedlings Heimia salicoflia roots Heimia myrtifolia Going to grow these out beside the H. salicifolia cuttings and note the any differences.. smaller cuttings of around 10cm rooted quicker. left in a jar of water with a couple drops of rooting hormone, kept in a humidity tub at 25c for a few days no trouble hardening off the salicifolia from humidity/heat I'm sure this is overkill and they would strike in a glass of water on a windowsill.

    Earliest childhood memory ?

some similar memories to the posts above all in the age of 3 - 4 ish the door to a hotel in japan, it had a demon looking mask on it pigeons and statues in trafalgar square, different coloured squirrels running up a tree outside an old church, a hedgehog in the snow on xmas, a dragon statue in a playground, a swimming pool with a rock wall and ferns. splitting my head and seeing it in a bathroom which had every wall mirrored, getting bit on the ass by a chihuahua..

    Can't upload photos

Same problem, wasn't due to images being to large either. Tried both simple and the new uploader with firefox and arora. i think it's the same problem with the avatar uploader too.. strange, it fails to upload the avatar but then uses it as the background picture for uploading an avatar.. behind all the text etc.

    Centipede's Iboga Growlog

Success! Tiny cutting I took a couple months back has thrown out a root Was put in a 50 50 mix of sand and rich soil, rooting hormone was applied a couple times. Kept at a pretty constant soil temp of 20 - 30 c Here is the seedling the cutting is from and is pictured in the first post. Just over a year old now. So stoked to have propagated it!

    Salvia starting to flower?

#Note from mod: S. divinorum is legal where centipede lives. Be sure to keep the discussion legal if it is not where you live. Thanks.# (Sorry ballzac, I will remember to add a disclaimer next time I post about plants scheduled in Aus) Hey all These Salvia divinorum plants have been in the ground in this greenhouse for close to a year now. Most of the new tips are a different shape and a purple colour. I can only hope these are flowers. Kicking myself because I tipped half of them just before they started growing like this...
  21. Surprised to see no one has mentioned Miners Lettuce - Claytonia perfoliata Stuff grows as a weed in the backyard, takes off in the shady damp places and all over in winter. Looks cool too. Brassicas would be good too. Nasturium Potato and other Solanaceae edibles.
