  1. I remember must of been about ten years ago now a guy i was working with his girlfriend at the time had a severe reaction to smoking a session of bongs. they were fairly heavy smokers at the time. She had really bad stomach cramps and uncontrollable shaking he ended up having to driving her to the hospital i cant recall exactly what the doctor said about it at the time. Not even sure why i remember it lol guess i thought it was interesting in terms of the reaction heh i never doubted the story and even chatted to her about it a few times i guess in hindsight it was probably cannabinoid hyperemesis.
  2. Thats not how that game works!, my friend you are still very much IN! haha Sorry for the tangent Zed, usually its mostly where most of my inspiration comes from these days lol. Would definitely recommend the stuff Micro suggested by Sharon, Jorlemon and Glass-Coffin has been quite some time since i read them but from memory is certainly worthwhile although laden with academic language and general boring sort of tediousness reminiscent of anthropological texts its def some of the easier stuff to read given the context. Some stuff might be available with uni access - research journal wise and or library.
  3. Cheers bro ill download that pdf and give it a read on the kindle in the next week or two. I guess in many ways we all are the remnants of cultural migration, subjugation, appropriation, assimilation etc to varying degrees which has been the case more often than not for most of human history. Generally i was lamenting on the failure of human beliefs in particular to fully encompass the true nature of what it is to be a human meat bag/conscious computer, our cultural illusions and history of such are indeed the stark reminder we are still on the ladder in terms of the evolution and growth of culture, society, relatedness, consciousness/awareness etc. Thus said it is certainly is amazing times to be alive and experience the pinnacle of human evolution as it stands in the here and now living in a precipice as such where our ability for survival or failure comes down to the mass consensus of belief and the logical implications of the follow through
  4. Good stuff! Generally i would tend to disagree with the sincerity of conversion even in todays worlds we see those whose ideologies are challenged, derailed and deconstucted tend to coalesce towards ontological clusterfucks of meaninglessness. A gross failure of imagination on humanities part. To strive for meaning, definition of self and place, a sense of belonging and community these aspects are largely what and who we are as people and these operating systems - religion, culture etc neatly encompasses such aspects as that you dont really have the to need to or should feel a need to use your imagination and or brain too much with existential conundrums or even the strange contradictions within whatever system it is, How far do we go till we are just like robots playing out the programming we have inherited how sincere can sincere be when we are talking about beliefs? haha Great point about the continual evolution of belief systems its like migration and largely tied too it, Most probably as a species we have been moving around and mingling from our beginning.
  5. Awesome stuff was kinda waiting for ya micro or VelvetSiren to respond Given the nature of the inquisition etc its not hard to see the choices of necessity survival wise, I wonder how many people were/are true believers given the usual contradictory nature of Christianity. I guess the first generation or two would feint faith in order to keep on breathing, but once you get to the kids thats where we can really start to rewrite an entire culture. Do the Practitioners you've spent time with consider themselves as Christians micro? like go to church and read the bible etc?
  6. Hope everyone found us ok? well im going too assume as much haha was a great turn out! Really enjoyed listening to the conversations great to remind myself there are awesome people in the world!

    A Morally Bankrupt Society ???

A good question is what is our society building/working towards? it certainly in my eyes is not some sort of benevolent society working towards shared goals but more so individuals working towards making as much cash as they can and fuck everyone else? thats not to say great discovery's are not made but these are not the premise more so the economy and market is the driving force and all else be dammed! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufHyOQPWkIA

    A Morally Bankrupt Society ???

This is a certainty, the statistics will speak for themselves in terms of equality and distribution of wealth we more than certainly have failed not just ourselves for believing we somehow deserve more of the pie than those who dont have any pie and would like some of that yummy. I mean just look at how twisted politics is atm its pretty much an ideological cluster fuck of old well off white men besides the few worthwhile constituents which one could count on one hand. The bullshit justifications and continuation of war and war profiteering, the subjugation of entire nations to the whim of state departments and world banks the winding back of hard fought for civil rights etc etc etc i mean the fucking list just doesnt stop But to be completely fair this is not a new phenomenon that just burst at the seems during the 70s 80s whenever, this is the history of the past several hundred years of humanity working within and abusing the systems they worked with at the time be it communism, Leninism, capitalism, free trade etc . Corruption and more so greed greed greed is the super sexy new face (althought its an old game) of what it means to be a human in our time, having more things made with stuff then those other fools denotes some sort of fucken retrograde sense of prestige like we are in medieval europe or some shit, Yes we have failed in my opinion although ultimately time will tell. At this point though i think one can and should congratulate oneself for pushing the inherent programming that all this is and should be, it takes a certain type of nerve to say to oneself well i think im probably fucken wrong and perhaps we can do better - tis certainly a good starting point. to be honest im not entirely sure what the focus should be certainly we should continue to point out the injustices we see in todays world but perhaps also start looking for a new way especially for some sort of sense of sanity and dare i say community whatever that actually means in todays day and age
  11. Yeah this is sad, These pieces of shit most probably know about harvesting phyllodes, fallen twigs/brances etc as anyone who reads the widely available literature would know... it very much seems like trying to maximize profit at the expense of a whole ecosystem... Greedy much?

Where do I get my soil from?

Definitely give a landscaping supplies place a go if you are able too. Half a tonne is a good size workable amount depending on how much stuff your potting up and or size of area planting out. Decent organic loams are a good base for general purpose mix to help spread bag mixes and or other stuff like coir, perlite, worm casting, compost etc.

    Ebola. Latest developments thread.

"Sierra Leone said Saturday it will confine people to their homes in a nationwide three-day shutdown later this month aimed at containing the Ebola epidemic threatening west Africa." Not to be overtly negative here but i kinda doubt this will work aka actually keep people off the streets.
  23. well the thing is he is straight outta 54 lol all these guys are throw backs to bygone eras, bit of a generalisation i know but not that much off target. Still not exactly sure if they did indeed win on preference votes, wouldnt be surprising though. Something of interest ( to me anyway ) is the way the news polls work in terms of collating data, from what ive read / heard apparently they tend to target oldies as most of the canvas calls are on weekends, when most people would otherwise not be home to answer and or just not answer in general . one thing that is kinda glossed over in elections is the voting power of retirees and or their large misrepresentation in news polls
  24. The justification is that it costs taxpayers more for broken relationships than it otherwise would if things were all peachy like some kinda retrograde 1930s feel good family show, which in terms of the economics is certainly true although it kinda waxes over human nature haha ( well i thought it funny )
