hi edith i got from sporeworks ..i'm a first timer when it comes to mycology and was foolishly planning to grow this in jars with regular brf tek when i read this was not possible and came across revs write up about newspaper teks which in turn evolved into these.. this is the right way round , but when you look underneath its beautiful ..the next are about 2-3 days apart..

i just love watchin them grow , thanks for the advice rev, i have noticed the paper roll starting to shrivel up a bit ...yeah i wasnt quite sure when to harvest , thanks again rev.. :D thanks gerbil ...go on pull yer finger out and start ...it wont happen without you ...i want to see others... also i have noticed the that one of them has already dusted the humidy chambers with brown dust which i now assume are the spores ..vey dusty indeed ..visable in last pic . now i cant wait to make tea out of them..

these reishi grow quick ! just a few days since the last few photos..they are hard to the touch , almost like wood...

just the fact that there was a PLAN to distibute to the japanese market tells you its about bucks .. in a year or so we can buy our own trees back from them..haha oh yeah lets protect who ? go to the web site where it says what a great patio plant this will make .. very precious indeed !

thanks people , it was very easy except for the first part where you put boiling water over the newspaper, i foolishly decided to do that part in the kitchen sink ...the prob is that the news print is dissolved by hot water and has a tendency to stick to the sides of the sink ..after i got the newspaper out i spent a good half hour cleaning the "stainless"steel sink so my wife didnt kill me ...would've needed more than reishi tea to cure that pain rev does mention in the post to use a bucket !doit [ 20. how long would it take for cuttings to start getting around ..that would have to have some effect on pricing the following year or so?

hi all just like to add a few pics from a recent experiment with the medicinal reishi strain , hope the photos self explain . spawn was started then rolled into treated newspaper ( see old posts from rev on how to do this as well) tried two different supplements (no pun ) to the newspaper.. 1.brown rice flour ...about 3 big tablespoons. 2. maple syrup ..the real stuff not artificial 3. nothin just newspaper maple syrup rocks! you pick which one you think it is . sorry about the lack of science this was done rough as guts method .. some pics you can see a black mold starting , so i got a sharp knife and cut out the area..it worked , nice white myc came up from underneath a day later..more to come when i harvest . the fruiting chambers (haha) are simple cloning/propogation purchased from a local hydro shop..the white round tray is an old sprouting tray ...as i said rough as guts tek . :D [ 20. nothin new ..have tried it myself ...you have to be really careful with it ..only put glue on the very outer dark green edge ..its easy to screw up ,and end in glue goin everywhere and thats bad for the cactus. its really not worth trying with anything precious like lophs , it does work if you get it right but just as easy with trad grafting methods. oh yeah many times with stuck fingers to cactus not funny.... :D

hi just wanted to leave this link , im sure its been seen before but its great for myco newbie dummies like myself who want to start but find all the lingo a bit freaky and all to scientific . great simple pictures and instructions meant for school kids but it really helps understand the whole process.. just for us dummies k :D LINK

i hear the white sap in the euphrobia cacti's(spelling?) can cause blindness if it comes into contact with your eyeball also cause some serious skin stuff as well .
