Mate I really don't advise advertising what you just did on here as awesome as that plant is. Members on here in the past have got themselves in a bit of drama for doing similar.keep it under your hat :-)! Or in your pants as per that type of crest!

Yeah the longer I looked at the base sections I came to think the same. From the bad photos they almost look like a c. Peruvianus x forbesii. Strange looking plant.

    Show off your freaks

I was super curious about that as well. It's one of the nicer tbm I've seen save the scaring at the bottom. I've got a pretty sweet sweet looking tbm, I might just have to get it out.
  9. Pimento that is a tbm crest, looks just like mine. What I find interesting is the tbm crest I've seen that are totally spineless.

Interesting a reasonable looking A. Fissuratus didn't sell at all and an A. Kotschoubeyanus. Some of the "button cactus" have gone for cheap prices especially one,a real glamour from the living rock guy, only went for about $120 something.... Having said that some caespitosa buttons have gone for huge amounts.

Cmon man it's a bit Scopish it's green and columnar. They are in the ball park...there was a frickin A retusus being sold under Fissuratus the other week on ebay.....close enough! I almost sent em a message but I couldn't be bothered.
  13. Doh, I'll keep that in mind guys! Damn Zelly that thing is huge mate, do you know how old it is??
  14. I just had a Symetrica and Obesa cross but I got rid of the seeds. That would just mess up the already relatively subtle differences. I'm sure I just saw an Obesa cross Meloformis on eBay the other day. The vendor saying it was Obesa x ????

    SAB family advice needed

Thank you all, I really appreciate the input. A lot. I will try the business as usual thing for the moment. Uni i hope will be a needed diversion but I think it's possible I might go part time. I've never been a part of any other online community and over the last 5 odd years have looked to this place for information, entertainment and advice often on a daily basis. This place is amazing. Thank you again.

    SAB family advice needed

Having been about as happy as I have ever been recently i thought something had to come along and make life interesting again and it has. Someone iam very close to has just told me they, with much information missing that they are possibly terminally ill. She has had a cough for at least a month which has been getting progressively worse. She has been making jokes about it being a cat allergie and that she was prob going to die from it before I get back to see her midyear, often due to the fact I would tell her to see a doctor. Well three days ago what started out as me thinking she was joking again was a conversation that ended with her telling me she went to the doctor end of January and she has a problem with her lungs. She refuses to tell me what the details are and if I insist she gets upset and angry. She says she has been advised to quit work and go back to live with her mum. So doing what comes natural i go on an alcohol and then some bender which I havnt in months and by last night she is trying to console me(a failure on my part considering the situation) but still won't tell how she is sick and when asked when she will get better becam very upset. How do I deal with this? I feel I need to know the specifics, that it's unfair she won't be honest with me but I also feel iam not supporting her by not respecting her wishes and the way in which she wants to deal with it. this all has totally pulled the rug from under me, I can see she is doing her best to go on with her life as usual but said last night she will leave work soon. She did say I should just get on with my life and leave her to deal with things, I said I wouldn't and her relief was visible. She has told me only her family and myself know this, she has told no friends. How the fuck do I deal with this. I feel a bit strange posting this and it's not exactly chill but I'm on here everyday and respect the people's views here immensely. I don't even want to add this but iam some what concerned about my own mental state and have to seriously perform at uni this year with 0 fuck ups. Damn I feel selfish for having to think that way.....
  19. I am just trying to find out if T.Flaviflorus has a pink/white flowered variety, as can be seen in my photos. Looking on line and at friends they seem to only have a yellowish flower. Can anyone tell me if they have seen a red form? Or does this appear to be another ssp or hybrid to anyone, the Turbs can be a bit confusing especially in the Schmiedickeanus tribe( classic name!). I might add when that plant is fully hydrated it is about double in height and far more columnar than it is in these shots

I can't believe that Pilocereus is for sale, I asked about it 2 years ago and the old lady said I could take it. I went back with a mate to remove and her husband who had advanced dementia lost the plot at us, I hadn't bothered to go back till two days ago and noticed the residents had changed. I was going to ask em about it. It's pretty damn big now!! Clicking on that link and seeing that photo just blew my little mind.

  22. I agree with all the above,i dont see a super pedro at all.as well as the above description from ballzac mine has a very textured scop like skin.I was also under the impression cordobensis was not an accepted name for what is called super pedro
  23. I too read this a long time ago.its brilliant.i have used the information to base my soil compositions on more or less and like his ideas on natural plant growth.i think a pumped up strombo is a great example.they look strange and unnatural when they are elongated and globose. Hence the name disciformis I guess.(I do love my lophs with long blonde hair, firm body and a deep blue grey tan mmmm fit lophs ;-)

Have you seen any cool movies lately??

yep Interstellar, got a few problems with it but all up freakin awesome, had me on edge of seat a bit.saw in Bangkok.sound was so loud think i have lost some hearing permanently and the audio dominates the dialogue a little, think it was Han Zimmer score?the guy needs to chill on his levels a bit but the sound track is pretty epic.best sci fi ive seen in ages.some great concepts.
