I think that 17 is actually Aseroe rubra, but I could be wrong. It would be easier to tell if the stem was shown and it was in a less decomposed state. 4. Phallus rubicundus (?) Definitely from the order Phallaceae though. 7. Russula mariae (possibly)

The current theory on the reason for the bioluminescence (as far as I know), is to attract predators to eat it and spread all its spores around. The enzyme that produces the glowing is called luciferase. More can be found about it on wiki: Luciferase (Wiki) A fantastic little mushroom! I would be really keen to share some of this culture with some others (and keep some for myself!). After reading this post I picked up some sterile Nutrient Agar plates and some SAB plates to culture it. How would I go about grabbing some when they are ready? I am happy to trade for some other interesting fungi, such as some of the Phallacaea order if you are keen.
