    Mousy Tricholomas?

I was out foraging for Saffron Milk Caps and found what I think might be Mousy Tricholomas. Details: Detached Gills/deeply notched (there are gills around the top of the stipe on some specimens upon very close inspection) White-grey gills Growing in pine forests between lithgow and bathurst Easily broken stem White spore print cap is convex to flat with a slight umbo

My lift pulled out If anyone is heading up tomorrow (and has a spare seat) from Sydney PM me or send a text. It would be much appreciated.

    Oberon sub zero camp

Me and a mate are in! Could someone please send me a pm with the final details once decided? I am happy to camp anywhere, trek anywhere, for as long as required. Most importantly though, I just need to know where. Also, I am going to bring some cultures of edibles and some extra plates to subculture interesting fungi that we find. Esp Omphalotus nidiformis or Ramaria.

SO where are we meeting? I haven't been to the g-spot before. Also, I might need to get a lift if mine falls through. Happy to pay petrol.

    Lion's Mane and pink oysters

Hi guys, I just made up a whole heap of pink oyster and lion's mane plates. I have access to a lab at the moment, so I am very keen to make up a heap of plates. If anyone is keen to trade, let me know. If you are just keen on getting started let me know and I am sure I can help you out. I am broke though, so if you could cover postage it would really help!

    Fungicides

Hi guys, I was just reading about the growing hyphal tip, and found that hyphae secrete different ions such as Ca2+ near the apex. I was thinking that this might be a really simple way to control fungi on plants and could be done in a really enviro friendly way. Maybe by making a fungicide that increases/decreases the concentrations of these ions. Does anyone know if this has been done before? Or maybe if this is how fungicides already work? http://www.yorku.ca/planters/images/How_does_a_hypha_grow.png
  10. What areas of mycology are you into? If you are into more than just phenotypic IDs I can suggest some books you might be keen on.

    Mycoremediation

Which Uni are you at? There are a few people at Sydney Uni that should be able to point you to some good primary literature. Also, PM me your email address as I have about 30 fungi textbooks, some of which focus on bio-remediation. That goes for anyone else that might be keen for them too. Does anyone know of a replacement for megaupload? I can upload a zip with all of them if anyone is keen.

    alice like shroom?

Probably from Boletales. From that pic, my best bet would be Boletellus emodensis. There are a few Boletellus sp. that look similar though. If you can, send me the spores and I will try and narrow it down futher. Also a photo of the pores and any staining that happens to it would be helpful. Edit: Also was it found in Eucalypt leaf litter? Also could be Gymnopilus dilepsis after some research.

    Oberon sub zero camp

I'm in. Any time other than easter weekend is good. Also, if anyone is keen to document all the species we see, let me know and I will print out some recording sheets. Also, if the generator is there I might bring along a microscope.

looking for a microscope for mycology purposes

I got 2 microscopes from a wholesaler in china via alibaba for $400 inc postage. Both of them are professional quality and are often ones sold here for $600+. My compound microscope has everything you would expect (highest lense is 100x) and only set me back $250. It did take a while to get here though. If you are happy to wait and you don't mind spending hours chatting to sales assistants to try and find one and organise for a single unit to be shipped, this is by far the best option that I have come across.
