    Gymnocalycium thread

Here are some pictures, not the clearest but taken in semi-dark conditions so came out ok Gymnocalycium Quehlianum Not sure if this is a Gymno but it sure looks similar, purchased for $3 at the markets with heaps of large pups in the second picture Finally this one is very similar to the above and most likely the same thing. Found at bunnings in a 20c piece sized pot for $5 back when i was prepared to let them rip me off.
  2. Me too please, my neighbour decided to spray all plants within a metre of the fence a while back... Sadly taking my 3 little ones.

    Brugmansia Pollen

I am looking for some brugmansia pollen to try and hybridise some of my pure species as well as to further work on the hybrid i currently have. I would idelaly like a pink, peach, or similar brightly colored cultivar if possible. At present the planned first run of hybrids will be (Brugmansia Aurea 'yellow' x Brugmansia Suavolens) x Brugmansia Aurea 'White' (Brugmansia Aurea 'yellow' x Brugmansia Suavolens) x Brugmansia Candida 'Single White' Brugmansia Aurea 'White' x Brugmansia Candida Brugmansia Aurea 'Yellow' x (Brugmansia Aurea 'yellow' x Brugmansia Suavolens) I would like to add a few extras in there if someone could sell, trade or donate me some pollen. I wont need it for around 1-2 weeks so no real rush.

    Looking for: toothache plant seeds

I got some of 2deep2handle a while back although after having planted a heap last week i only have maybe 15 or so left. If you don't end up getting any i could probably swing them your way. It makes the area tingle like crazy. I have never tried it on toothaches but i maybe it works in a similar way to anaesthetic by making the nerves in the area go crazy. This is only a thought not a fact or anything.

    brisbane meet 15 september

sounds sweet, i will be there if i have to walk from the train station. Hopefully i can get someone from the area i know to pick me up. I will book my trains in advance so i cant run out of money. Will bring a suitcase for my 1 night stay, no clothes except for those used to wedge plants in place. See what happens and how my ideas of a lift pan out but might even get there early via taxi or something.

i am just being a tosser because i wish i was as close as you are. So don't mind me. There are a heap of gold coast members on the forums though so it probably wouldn't hurt. Had a generous offer of a lift from halfway though which was awesome hopefully i will be able to take the person up on that next time.

    Should this be grafted

At what size do you guys recommend grafting loph and tricho seedling ? I have tried an assortment of sizes with varying success that seems dependant on whether i had a billy beforehand (always graft better after a toke).

    dodgy website advice please

THey are using your site as a host for 'Backlinks' by the sounds of it. If it is just a serious of files with links in them they are used to trick google into thinking that the pages have heaps of people linking too them when they dont. They call it Black Hat SEO. I would delete the folder immediately and check that your directories have permissions set to 755 i think it was. This means that public and group have execute turned off.

    Brisbane meet, Saturday August 25th

lol. Wish i could be there but the timing wasn't right. Next time around i will likely have a bit more time and miney Wish i still lived at GC would have been easy as to get there.
  17. I am wondering if anyone has any idea of a decent device that isn't too overpriced for being able to chop pretty large amounts of dried herb. I have approximately 3kgs of dried lactuca and down the track a few months will have the same of a fair few others i have mass planted, i largely destem the herbs first so it will only be chopping dried leafy materials. I had thought possibly a small mulcher but i would really want something on a bit smaller scale than that.

Good device for chopping bulk herbs ?

cheers for the suggestions, and yes i am hoping hand scissors were for a laugh. The whipper snipper idea may work, big plastic tub with a hole cut in the lid so i can fit the head in LOL. Yeah, we have a blender here i was going to try but i would rather have something specifically for doing my herbs in as the wife loves her blender. I will go for a wander when i have some cash next and try to find a nice beasty old food processor. i could probably fit around 500g dried at a time in an average food processor the trouble is that most only chop the stuff at the bottom they need "helicopter" type blades to pull the stuff from the top to the bottom. So i am going to try and find a wide but squat food processor to TRY avoid the issues that blenders offer me. For the stuff in a few months i have decided to invest in a small mulcher as i will be trying to use the stem remains as mulch anyway. Plus i will likely be a lot less picky with stem removal doing a few kgs at a time. From this state i can further blend if required. edit:1 hehe "The Poppy Seeder" there are some good options on there i had thought of something like the parley mills we had used something along those lines when chopping up a certain other substance at a mates one time. Although it soprayed chunks everywhere LOL edit2: just checked out the first link too. i am sure to find something between the two. hoping for someone who has experience with any to be able to recommend one though Although i don't need a mill now some are so cheap i may consider it as i am sure i can find uses. If not i will just grind us fresh grains for bread lol edit3: MWAHAHAHAHAA this one looks dangerous

    Chacruna growing conditions

for sure, They dig the warm humid temperatures and will flourish under high humidity. They ar also very tolerant to drought as i went away and left my psychotrias in my sisters care and came back to my viridis and alba compleyelu dried and shrivveled except a few touches of green. Vigorous watering for a week and she threw new shoots everywhere. They are a very tolerant plant and you should have no troubles finding it a happy environments
