I had 1 year old morning glory (heavenly blue) seeds. I put 10 of them in a cup of water without nicking any of them. Within 2 days all had a tap root. I planted 6 and tossed the rest in a few cacti pots. Today I noticed that one of the tossed ones, not only germinated, but was climbing on this "Ecuadorian PachanoiXpsycho0".

This is a Lophophora jourdania caespitosa pup that I grafted last season to pereskiopsis. This summer I noticed that the stock started to rot so I cut it, leaving 0.5 cm to the scion. It rooted nicely and now I'm giving it a go with the aqua culture.

What kind of cactus is this?
Philocacti replied to Philocacti's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
Hey Berengar It's not a Cactus, I think EG is right about the genus. It's a Trichocaulon or at least some specimens on Google images have similar flowers but I still don't know what species. -

Grafts rooting on stock
Philocacti replied to theuserformallyknownasd00d's topic in Cacti & Succulents
I bought a graftee crest about a month ago that had some roots, last week it started showing new growth..... I'm glad I didn't de-graft it ;) -
Moved this one to a less sunnier spot cuz it's turning yellow (only certain times of the day) on the older growth of this season

Yup 2 weeks ago I made a post with all my bridgesii monstrose and crest with pictures and background info, however I posted it in a wrong thread. I deleted the post and was to lazy to repost in your bridgesii monstrose thread.

what does this Trichocereus resemble???
Philocacti replied to Philocacti's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
I thought you were joking around. I was looking at trichocereus.net and found out it's an actual clone. -
what does this Trichocereus resemble???
Philocacti posted a question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
This germinated from pachanoi seeds bag from Koehres. It's 6 years old and it's an extremely slow grower. What does it resemble? Cuz it sure doesn't look like a pachanoi to me. Thanks a lot in advance. -

Monster and semi-monster bridgesii 's : general phenotype discussion
Philocacti replied to mutant's topic in Cacti & Succulents
My 2 bridgesii crests are getting fuzzy hairs on a lot of their areols. -
So this button didn't wake up from dormancy, while all my other ones are plump and flowering. I thought it rotting from the roots. So I cleaned it from the soil and thought I'd try this hydro grow. 4 days ago Today

what does this Trichocereus resemble???
Philocacti replied to Philocacti's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
Zelly I'm using my Xperia z2 camera....no editing .... Probably should learn how. Mike, I grew it from seed...so it's not a clone.....at least yet. Once I take a cutting in will become a clone (with no name) I took some more pics in the shade, hope these would be better. These are all from the same seed lot. The one in the 1st pic This a similar one with the same color, texture and growth rate These have bigger spines, and they grow way faster These look more like what I think a pachanoi looks like (I shaded them with my body to get less light) -

Cactus of the 4 winds
Philocacti replied to ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ's topic in Cacti & Succulents
I have 2 stable 4-ribbed Trichocereus, 1 a SS02Xbridgesii and the other is SSS02Xpachanoi. I have 3 other but they're unstable shifting from 4-5 ribs. I'm thinking out loud, but isn't the 4 wind thing = 4 corners of the world = north, South, East & west. I think it's a biblical thing. -
So this unlabeled Trichocereus has a pup that has gone monstrose.... So I'm guessing it's a SS01 X TPM, since I had only 5 germinate. I have 4 labelled and 1 is lost among all the unlabeled Trichocereus I have.

Glow in the dark Echinocactus grusonii "Glowing wonder"
Philocacti replied to ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ's topic in Cacti & Succulents
I believe they insert GFP gene in the cactus' genome. They've done it with pigs, rats and mice. This gene is from a jelly fish not a firefly. The firefly's glowing mechanism needs ATP to glow, so it only glows at certain time. Congrats my friend , but I dislike these somehow that a passed to offers on them.
