    Another globular ID

Thanks zelly But images on cactus art don't fit geminispina. The closest looking one is M. compressa but the flowers look different than the one I have

What did you do to your cacti today?

Hahahahaha yeah, but from what I understand is that with Adenium, one flower will have anthers and another on the same plant will have stigmas. Maybe I misunderstood, I'll research more and I'll update you.

What did you do to your cacti today?

My one and only Adenium obesum has produced 4 fruit. I concluded it's self-fertile and read about how to harvest the seeds. It's like stapelia, so I'll have to cover the fruits with pantyhose, so when it opens the seeds don't disperse. What's really interesting, turns out that it produces 2 kinds of flowers. The same plant will produce a male flower and a female flower. Well... I never knew there are plants like this.

    Zeus

Wow man..that's impressive. What are the conditions you grow it in? I think it grows faster in partial shade, but currently I can't provide that.

Here are some pictures I've posted afew years back on the Nook I bought this one with this freaky kind of pupping. I don't know what caused it to pup this way, as this clone doesn't pup that often and when it does.... It's usually from the base

Weird phenomena on some of my Trichocereus

I think I've figured out what's happening (at least in my environment). I think the ones that are in more sunny spots for them to handle, display this rib shrinkage. This a SS02XBRIDGESII These are bridgesiiXSS02 As shown in the picture the columns on the front row are displaying this shrinkage but the one on far right and the one in the back have their normal "pumped" column.
  9. I like my soft and delicate skin.....I wouldn't change for none.....not even you But thanks for the tip tough guy

People we get to know through cacti

Thanks man, Yeah to each his own but most of who give it a negative review are probably following some hype or they're searching for something specific. Just like you, I find it a very attractive Trichocereus but I still haven't tried growing it yet and I don't know if it'll do well in my environment ;)

    After the rains...

Let's say one roots a 1.5 to 2 m column. Would it flower right away or would it need a few years for the root system to mature for it to flower? I hope I'm not taking your thread off topic, but this subject really interests me. So Mike, let me know if I'm hijacking your thread, I'll start another thread concerning this topic.
  12. 3. Last grafts, they're growing slower than those that I rooted

    After the rains...

Funny that you mention that flowering of Trichocereus is related to plants high as opposed to root systems' age. I was going to start a thread inquiring about this, cause I noticed with the stapelia I have, that flowering has to do with the age of the root system and not with the mass above ground. I didn't do any controlled experiments, but after my stapelia flowered I could cut of all the plant and leave one "finger" with the old root system and it would still flower. The tallest Trichocereus I have, is in the 1.5 m range with a 11 year old root system and its not showing any signs of flowering ....yet. I have a big melted wax grafted to a tall stenocereus, making it measure less than 2.5 m and it's also not showing any signs of flowering. So this got me really curious. So how tall did yours get to start flowering?

Comparison Trichocereus Riomizquensis & PC Pachanoi

If PC turned out not to be a clone rather siblings then they're pretty consistent in their looks. If that's the case, could it be that this isolated population wasn't hybridized?

    After the rains...

Thanks a lot Mike..... It sure looks very similar to mine, at least the top part. As always awesome specimen ..... Glad that you have one flowering for you

2nd pic in your last post is a lumberjackus??
  17. I reckon it looks like a "normal" crest with bridgesii spines, than these wavy crested sections on the tbm crest.
  18. Does anyone know if there's a non-monstrose bridgesii crest?
  19. I always wondered why kids do this kind of shit? Is it for the sake of the # of views? Are they copying the guys from jackass? My hand is always scared by spines and a year ago I one spine punctured me and caused a nerve inflammation. I used to get shivers/numbness in my right side of my body. I stayed like this for a month or maybe a little more until the spine got decomposed beneath my flesh.

    Gorgeous globular, what is it?

My friend who gave to me, told me not to pick the fruit until it falls off. He said if I picked it before that the cactus will die. Don't know if that's true or not though. I'd be scared to try.
