Thanks ginja, i thought i would post it here and then turn it into a trade thread. Not the best of ideas! Peace

Thanks P, i think ill try the hot water technique, i used the same technique on my acacias and 90% of them germinated. Just thought this seed would be a little more 'delicate'. How many days should i let it soak in water? Peace

Hey guys Does anyone have this plant/seeds in their possession, A. Peregrina? Would love to get my hands on it, will trade or pay cash for it. Cheers! Peace
-
Does that mean its illegal to grow? That would explain a little about availability..find it HARD to believe that people would be importing colubrina left, right and centre without as much as a thought towards peregrina! Peace

Thanks hash, yeah right now its 32 and the night get as low as 15-16 in summer so yeah, there is a difference. Why do you ask? Peace

Upon closer inspection, there are these tiny bugs, around 1mm big, that are forming in groups of 5-10 on the underneath of the leaves, they dont look like aphids or mealy bugs though. The ants are also crawling down into the soil, so whatever it is it must be in the roots as well. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it? Peace
-
What do these bugs look like? I sprayed some neem seed oil on all my caapi plants roughly 1 week ago, and that didnt stop the ants from coming back the next day. If it is these other bugs, what can i use to get rid of them? Peace

Am keen to hear more about your experiments on your plants with WPG mesc, do you think that WPG contains a much purer form of fetriliser in the form of trace elements for the plants, i.e. Boron, Selenium etc..? In other words, is it the high spin elements that make the plants grow better or is it the nutrients that you are feeding it? if that makes much sense.. Peace

Haha your insane. Someone else was offering $100 for 3 kilos worth of an 8 yr old vine. Good luck selling it at that price. Peace

Hey guys Went for a hunt yesterday, scored a shitload of shrooms. Will post pics soon. Ive got them out in the sun drying, but i dont know if thats the best way to dry? Will direct sunlight for 8-12 hours reduce the "strength" of the mushie? What is the most effective technique for drying? Thanks in advance. Peace

Ill have some black caapi too please! Peace

Thanks hillbilly. The reason i ask is, i had some subs that went off because i left them in my cupboard, where temperatures get to 40c on hot days. When i had them, it felt like they told me that the 'magic' was gone from them. Spore print. Peace

Hey guys Looks like i got the rest of the year off, so am planning a cube hunt(microscopy only) with a friend about sometime in the middle of next week. Is this enough of a rain to get a good amount of cubes? http://weather.smh.com.au/local.jsp?lt=wzdist&lc=n01 Also, do i really need to go all the way up the border of nsw to find cubies, or can i stick to Sydney? We're planning on camping, so either way it doesnt bother me. Ill go wherever the higher sstrike rate takes me! Thanks guys, Peace.

Hey guys I fertilised my viridis plants with some blood and bone ferts, worked through a half inch into the topsoil, and ever since then ive been getting maggots and these little larvae things moving around when i dig into the topsoil, plus im getting ants on it, and im also starting to notice baby flies creeping up out of nowhere. Is there anything organic i can put in that wont harm the plant? Time is of the essence.. Peace
-
Thanks for the info guys, i let all my pots dry out, and the little fuckers have been getting out from the holes at the bottom, im sure if i let them dry out completely all will be well, if not ill definitley try the DE method. I think im gona take the first 2 inches of topsoil off thats been mixed with B&B and replace with fresh soil, that way the flies will fuck off. As a side question, are there any good ferts and nutes that dont attract bugs and insects that'll kill my babies? Peace
-
Thanks Andy, im worried about them just eating away, getting deeper and deeper into the soil, and attacking my plants root systems. If i dont take any action other than to let the pots dry out a bit, how long should i try that for? Im just worried that if i stand there and do nothing, they'll just spread to other pots or whatever, leading the the death of my plants. Is that possible? Peace
-
Hi EG, i know its not from over-watering, i do probably overwater a little, i do believe its that blood and bone fert that i put into it, because the day after i put it in, flies have been attracted to it, and ants are somehow finding their way into the pots and carrying the little peices of ferts away, neither happened before i used this fertiliser. My question is now, how the hell do i get the fuckers out, without resorting to unorganic pesticides? Peace

Hey guys I bought a couple of psychotria viridis plants from SAB, and they seem to be growing REAL slow, it takes around 1 week and a half to produce a set of leaves, some even longer. Ive done a quick search of the site, and all i could find was bug infestations as the problem behind the growth. Ive checked all of the plants, and none have any sign of any type of insect infestation whatsoever. The temps are getting pretty warm in sydney, with 18 being the coolest the nights get around here this time of year, so i dont think its the weather. I mist spray in the morning, followed by a light soil water, then mist spray at night again. The PH of the soil is roughly 5.8-6.8, a premium organic potting mix im using from bunnings. The only problem i can foresee is the position that they are in, almost full sun all day, minus about 3-4 hours of sun. The edges of the leaves sometimes burn but i cant do anything about the postition, as the whole backyard is pretty much full sun. Even so i dont think it would be slow growing from getting too much sun. What else could i be doing wrong? Peace
