If you were to google "Trichocereus serra blue", you'd discover serra blue to be a peruvianus in nature, & thus your original seeds would have been mislabeled.......
serra-blue = peruvianus
serra canyon = bridgesii
somewhere in my garden I have the serra blue plant in the ground and have the serra canyon plant in a pot.....or at least thats how they were labeled when I acquired them......

The very first issue of Dragibus Magazine (Summer 2012, Volume 1 Issue 1) had an article titled "Trichocereus and the Chavin: A Love Story", so that might help you a little, and for first hand knowledge you should PM slice
http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?/profile/11286-slice/ since he's made a couple of trips to Peru

QuoteIts as if the loph has stolen all its power lol
bingo
not so much a 'thing with trichs', more at overall size of the rootstock to begin with in relation to accelerated growth of the scion. Its hard to tell how tall your root stock is; I would recommend a minimum of 12" for a long term graft, the bigger the better.

personally i think you're making a mountain out of a molehill
I'd re pot that puppy into a pot that would hide the rootstock in its entirety so that the only thing visible is the scion fully engulfing a round pot right at the rim level.

QuotePity we can't get that donation bar to work cumulatively.
Think about it mate, as donations reached the goal, they'd taper off to nada.....by not showing the cumulative total, they can go on ad infinitum......

Quotebut if they only got water this way, would their fine roots desicate?
Imagine a cactus root, growing in bone dry soil, searching for water.
The bigger picture however is the total environment of the enclosed glass greenhouse that maintains a fairly even & warm temp year round, as well as fairly high humidity conditions. The clay pots in conjunction with the top dressing (and in my opinion, the top dressing is the potting medium) keep the roots at a fairly consistent & warm temp, further promoting root growth. How much water would the plants and or roots need growing in a fairly consistent humid environment?
As for the misting dispensers, more than likely they're located near the roof framing members and steam driven, the purpose being maintaining a fairly high humidity.

QuoteI'd love to know the growing techniques employed here....
1) ventilated, all glass green houses
2) warm, consistent year round temps: (Bangkok: Annual Weather Averages. April is the hottest month in Bangkok with an average temperature of 31°C (87°F) and the coldest is December at 26°C (79°F) with the most daily sunshine hours at 9 in December.)
3) high humidity inside the glass house
4) more than likely a misting system vs watering pots individually; water soluble ferts added to the misting

Quote(just the trich seeds, can't import L.w. seeds to the USA)
I for the life of me cannot understand why a shipper couldn't name cactus seeds with most any name he or she chooses, such as Lobvia winteriana and pm/email the recipient the actual name(s).

if they are outside in total shade & and not in direct sunlight I would say leave em alone.......
one thing i do is go from total shade to dapple morning sun then to full sun, stretched out over 3-4 weeks

mate, your cacti got problems.
Personally I would chuck the one in pic 2 in the trash bin & wave goodbye & would strongly consider the same for the other two cacti

Just cant guarantee the variegated plant will get there is all.

regardless of species, alkaloid content will vary from plant to plant even in the same species as well as by growing conditions & by the time of day when the leaf is harvested.

I received a bunch of Werd seed labeled ABG so I dont know which pod it was from, but I too noticed a lot of variegated seedlings. In my garden its pretty much survival of the fittest as I dont do any grafting, so today theres only a few variegated left on their own roots, & they're kinda sun baked.....
here's an updated pic of bridge rio mosna
and a pic of some of the slops, slightly over 1 yr old, own roots

19 minutes ago, Bedofspines said:That's nice zelly did you pollinate the Esperanzae with disciformis? Haven't ran into any good Esperanzae seeds yet
yessir, that was my only choice. fortunately I had 3 blooms on 2 separate disci plants so i crossed both ways. Hard to see amongst the spines but I do believe I've 4 Esperanzae fruits.

ugggg new forum software, I hate the fact there isnt a preview post function any longer.....well anyway heres some more eye candy
kt-gf & kt-ogun taken on 11-21-15 I just love the frosty blue look of gf
here they are again on 4-23-16:
Seems that after his Psycho0 flowered & fruited in 2015, Nitrogen got a little carried away with his battle ax.....& on 10-23-15 brought me the stumps to nurse back to health.....
here it is exactly 6 months later....
For christmas, santa nitro brought over another of his babies on 12-13-15....apparently high winds toppled some plants and his melted wax bridge suffered some damage..... ( i suspect it was the battle ax again)
here it is 4 months later.....
