Any Bible scholars around?
Humboldt replied to Strontium Dawg's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
In my ignorance I have taken the Adam and Eve story in a different way. From man being a part of the natural world, a creature which co-evolved with nature. There the original sin was to separate from the this co-evolved, balanced state to seek dominion over the natural world. Indeed man wanted to kick himself out of the garden. These days mankind, culturally, doesn't even see itself as an animal species and many deliberately exclude the natural world from daily life. Divorcing from mother earth perhaps spurred on by a fear of death, to control and destroy all in the natural world that was percieved as a threat. Fast forward to today where the joints fucked because people are in a state of disconnect, instead seeing themselves as separate to the natural world, as individuals. Seems to me some plants are keen to repair this displacement of man and the mother. -

Hi,I'm of the understanding sananga has a relatively short shelf life. Say 6 months, I imagine it might be difficult to know what's fresh, how much to buy, ect when importing. Peace

23 year old male. Chronic pain all over body due to spinal disease, has anyone ever tried Kratom before?
Humboldt replied to greenestmachinest's topic in Pharmacology, Chemistry & Medicine
Mate so sorry to read about your situation and hopefully wiser heads than mine will chime in with some helpful info. For what its worth imo its about how to maintain quality of life over the lifespan with a degenerative condition. I hope you can grow as a person with this challenge, uncover truths, as well and find 'tools' of many forms to help. Not sure of what the experience is but nerve pain (i imagine) would seem the one to target. Of course opioids like oxycodone act on synapses / neurotransmitters, Kratom also binds to pain receptors so might be a viable alternative imo. I understand it is addicitive, maybe you need to get polysubstance on this so you can manage things long term. Just in case your not aware, most pain management utilizes paracetamol in conjunction with opioids. -
My first winter growing trich seedlings saw alot of purples and pinks. My observations were that Lophs particularly like to purple and the younger the seedlings are the more likely as well. As the nights are warming up green has returned to most. Some have started to pup green whilst the wintered section remains purple (rather than reverting back to green as a whole). Would the reason be that the cold has affected the tissue so, that there has been some cell death?

Hey Feako, i grew out some nepetifolia and found the young tips to be the most satisfying part to smoke. May be its different with leonora but worth a try. Theyre not unpleasant to smoke and appear have a sedative quality.

Keeping Quail Courtunix japonica
Humboldt replied to Humboldt's topic in Sustainable Technologies & Ethical Living
Fired up the incubator for spring. Due to hatch next Sat. Im not sure if the male is breeding with all 4 girls, i suspect just 2 as they are the only ones with head feathers missing (he grabs onto when doing the deed). One way to find out! Candleling doesnt seem to work, shells arent opaque enough. When they hatch I'll be able to identify the patterning of the fertilised eggs and get better odds next time. -

Hey Yeti, not sure ill be of much help but ive had a few vw campers over the past 30 years and the dream of just hopping in and going. This is my current take on such matters. Id ask is the van going to be used strictly for camping? If youre like me the majority of the time id drive around needlessly carting, fridge stove, cupboards full of stuff. Pop top roofs are great fun but seals go and the roof can and does rust out unseen underneath the apron. Check that seal before buying a poptop. My current bus was a ten seater tin top. I pulled the rear seats and put in a rock and roll bed then decided nothing else needed. (Maybe roof rack) I can use the extra space when i need and its proven awesome to have that room. These days (as opposed to when the bus was made) portable fridges and stoves are great and quickly tossed in for camping. Boxes crates of gear are easy to do the same. Sling up a tarp when you get there and relax. Ps kombis are fun, you can easily do most repairs and maintenance yourself and have a super helpful little community although sounds like your after something more modern.... they sold alot of toyota vans for a reason.

Elizabeth stopped playing guitar at age 17 for church and family reasons. God apparently disapproved of black women playing guitar back then. "While working with the Seegers (a voraciously musical family that included Pete Seeger, a son of Charles from a previous marriage) she remembered her own guitar playing from 40 years prior and picked up the instrument again and relearned to play it, almost from scratch.[8]"
