  1. I have quite a few prints of the Ecuador and Escondido strains of P. cubensis on foil for microscopy. $20 each or I can do a deal if you want 3 or more. PM me for more details. Only within Australia please.
  2. I have tried growing these from seeds several times and each time they just grow 4-5cm and then die. I've tried several different propagation mixes (including my own blends of peat moss, vermiculite, potting mix and sand in varying ratios). I have also tried them both on and off heat mats.

  5. I have tried several different containers - seed raising trays, 75mm tubes, 125mm and 200mm pots. The one that lasted the longest was in a 125mm pot on a heatmat. I make sure not to give them too much water. I just sow them in damp soil, and then mist the soil with a spray bottle every couple of days. I generally don't give them any fertiliser, but for some I have tried adding a few granules of potash (Richgro brand). I keep them indoors in a room that is very warm. I sit them near a window, where they get indirect sunlight. When they die, they collapse, lie there for a day or so and then shrivel up.

    Hot pepper seed contest

Would love some of those seeds. This is a recipe for a chicken coconut curry I created. 500g diced chicken breast Peanut oil 3 chillies 1 clove garlic Half an onion 1 sprig curry leaf 1 teaspoon cumin 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon curry powder 1 teaspoon chicken stock powder Half a teaspoon ginger Salt and pepper Several dashes of tabasco sauce 2 potatoes 1 carrot 1 tablespoon butter 165ml coconut milk Basically chop up and fry all the spices, garlic, chillies and onion in peanut oil. Add the chicken and let it cook. Chop up and boil the vegetables separately then add them to the mix (along with the water they were boiled in). Let simmer for at least half an hour. Then add the butter, coconut milk, and tabasco to taste. Let simmer for another 10min. Serve with rice and naan bread.

Here are some photos of two acacias found on the metropolitan southside of Brisbane. The first three pics of one tree, and the last two are of the other. Can anyone ID them?

    Acacia ID

Went back there and got a couple of close-ups of the leaves and flowers. That's the first 3rd and 4th pictures. Also while there I noticed 3 more trees starting to flower. Does anyone have any idea what they could be?
