  1. Ok. So zinc acetate is water soluble, and the acetate salt doesn't bind the zinc ions so that they are freely available. And zinc acetate is used in some cold lozenges for the purpose of lessening the duration and severity of cold symptoms, so is easily obtainable otc.

It would be interesting to try out as an experiment if the swab test kits were able to be procured. Theoretically speaking of course...

  2. Yeah, I'm not sure why you'd bother turning 'killer' bud into literally killer bud.

Maybe it was low grade bud that some entrepreneur thought they'd "spice" up to sell.

This kind of thing is exactly why prohibition is dangerous. There are no quality standards or labelling laws. Imagine a world where you could legally buy weed, and it was labelled with where and how it was grown, whether any chemical additives, pesticides, fungicides etc had been applied.

There are food standards that have to be adhered to, I believe there should be a similar accreditation for ganja.

  3. Which reminds me = saw Mr Uri for a drink and cigar last weekend, not much more, and he said my yarn above wasn't bad (Pass Conceded) quite a few techo errors, but gist was ok, but I hadn't said Zinc solutions also farc the on=the=spot Immunoassay colour test. Zinc acts just like the necessary gold heavy metal would and causes the dye to react resulting in a false negative - drug is there, but the ink-on-paper says there isn't...We all know what the mindless, jobsworth drones are going believe - not you and the evidence in front of them - but the "all knowing" piece of paper, because "it's the law"!. Keep easy, good people. P'sDog.

Phaemons dog, just want to confirm if I read this correctly, are you implying that zinc (say a zinc oxide tablet dissolved in water) may cause a test to show a negative result? If so, that is very interesting information indeed. Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I've seen a few articles lately pointing out the inherently unfair aspects of the current testing regime. Notably that cocaine is not tested for even though the equipment is readily available, neither are benzos and other substances. We wouldn't want to upset the pharma applecart by suggesting that fine upstanding citizens using their perfectly legal products might be causing problems on the roads, would we.

  4. Try this, it's so cool and you'll love it, trust me!

Get some jars or glasses, fill about a third of the way with water, then another third of vegetable oil. Put some different colour food colouring in. This part looks cool already, but wait for the trick...

Plop an aspro clear tablet (or an alka seltzer for you US readers) and watch it go nuts!

Voila, instant lava lamps. If you could find colours that glow in blacklight I imagine that might just blow your mind!

  5. It's hard to know what might be causing it unless you can give us a little more info about the growing conditions. Young seedlings can be prone to damping off and rot from fungus. How wet is the media you are growing them in?

I've found Trinidad scorps to be one of the most hardy plants, they don't like really strong light too early in life though.

I usually just sprout them in jiffy pellets, then once roots start poking out the sides and bottom I pot them up in standard potting mix, nothing special. Give them a bit of seasol, maybe weak ferts if the leaves start yellowing. Water them regularly but don't keep the soil overly wet.
