New Federal Medical Cannabis Laws Introduced Today!
Strontium Dawg replied to Yeti101's topic in News & Notices
Havent there been enough studies now that show one active ingredient is not much use without the other? In any case, its a march of inches...rather than taking bold steps, we creep forward. -

Good luck getting Mike "Brady" Baird to legalise anything. He's hell bent on turning Sydney into Singapore. -
What did you do in your sacred garden today?

Been enjoying this display for a couple of days. -
What it will require is for Rupert Murdoch to endorse it and get all his fine media outlets to start singing the praises. Once that happens it's a done deal. Until that happens I see a rocky road for legalisation. We all know who really calls the shots in oz politics.

People have been getting ready for the impending legalisation for a very long time. That doesn't mean it's imminent. My buddy's uncle was trying to copyright names and words like "sinsemilla" back in the 80s.

Duke of Sutherland: The "lad", as you call him, is a true man of principles and a true athlete. His speed is a mere extension of his life, its force. We sought to sever his running from himself. Lord Birkenhead: For his country's sake, yes. Lord Birkenhead: No sake is worth that, least of all a guilty national pride.

I agree, pollies, and the general public are pretty uptight about it still.

Acquittal of man caught drug-driving nine days after smoking cannabis throws NSW drug laws into doubt
Strontium Dawg replied to Yeti101's topic in News & Notices
It's a tricky area. In my youth, I choofed so much over so many years that in a test I took for a friends research paper I went over the top of the assay limit. Yet I had abstained for several days prior to the test, and in my opinion at the time, felt totally straight. If you are a long term user, how long would you have to wait to hit this limit I wonder? -

Ok. So zinc acetate is water soluble, and the acetate salt doesn't bind the zinc ions so that they are freely available. And zinc acetate is used in some cold lozenges for the purpose of lessening the duration and severity of cold symptoms, so is easily obtainable otc. It would be interesting to try out as an experiment if the swab test kits were able to be procured. Theoretically speaking of course...- 70 replies

Maybe it was low grade bud that some entrepreneur thought they'd "spice" up to sell. This kind of thing is exactly why prohibition is dangerous. There are no quality standards or labelling laws. Imagine a world where you could legally buy weed, and it was labelled with where and how it was grown, whether any chemical additives, pesticides, fungicides etc had been applied. There are food standards that have to be adhered to, I believe there should be a similar accreditation for ganja.
