  1. I mean the guys name is zircon as in fugazi. Ya know a fake diamond. His name should tell you enough and anyone that tells someone that their plants are dying or growin poorly because something is wrong with them isn't the kinda person I wanna be supporting with my hard earned cash. His TBM's look like the short jointed variety to me. However you wanna call it A/B

    Tropical growing?

I'm in a subtropical humid enviro. If it's warm enough to plant in the ground I'd probably just root the cuts in a pot first then transplant so you have more control over growing conditions. Also I'd amend the soil to have great drainage as we get monsooned here throughout spring-summer. Too cold to grow in ground here but I have to use a more mineral soil than most and I'm growing in clay pots. Had a lot of trial and error before I realized that my soil needs to be able to drain super fast and be dried out within a few days time.

We have 2 distinct and highly unusual mutant clones of this favorite cactus. Please note that the cristate cuttings grow slower than the monstrose. Z9a Clone A Forms thick fans of cristate growth. Occasionally reverts to normal growth or sometimes monstrose columns that have the look of molten wax. Clone B Forms clumps of coral or brain-like cristate growth. Often offsets many monstrose branches that mutate in a variety of interesting ways. Each cutting is unique! Via Sacred Succulents

It's all about odds slice. Sometimes things get past our customs and others unfortunately don't. I have plants coming from Thailand now. *fingers crossed*

  16. How long have/had you been growing the mutants before they flowered. I live in an area where my specimens will probably never flower, but I can hope anyways

    Neglected E. Pachanoi / Peruvianus

They look fairly well to be neglected really. A little pigmentation from light intensity being increased but well none the less. I would get them good and moist and then only mist once the top mm or so start to get dry to the touch.
