  1. It depends on your medical history as to how detailed they are and what info they contain. There are no centralized records (yet - there might well be after controversial changes in November), so it depends on what records they want and from where. Any records should contain all the original information including the doctor's notes.

  2. Yes you definitely do get what you pay for. (although I think the volcano is still grossly overpriced)

If you buy a shoddy vaporizer, you won't like it, and if you make sure you get a good one you will fall in love.

I wouldn't spend less than around $250 on an electric whip or bag or combo style vape. In Australia prices have dropped a lot but you still would be better off saving and spending around $250 dollar mark for a one of these styles of vaporizer.

For portable vaporizers, you can still spend a lot for fancier models, but the Glass Vapor Genie and Magic Flight Launch Box are both good options within your price range. These will give you a proper vaporizing experience and you can decide if you want something more. MFLB is cool because of stealth, GVG is good because doesn't need batteries but it kind of looks like a crack pipe also it is glass which sucks for a lot of people. I had a V.Bros whip vape and was awesome but I broke the glass chamber a couple of times, the person I gave it to has broken it repeatedly as well. So replacement cost is something worth taking into consideration.

The Herbalaire is good because not easily breakable parts, although they are still chewable by dogs. The Extreme Q looks excellent and very good value for money at $230, whip and integrated pump for bag, electronic controls, remote, etc. but lots of glass!

Have a look around here http://www.australianvaporizers.com.au/store/ and read some reviews and prices etc.

  3. for Trichocereus assuming it is growing season I wait for at least two weeks to callus, then put in bag moist c&s mix and leave for a couple more weeks, maybe give a light watering then leave another couple more weeks and give them a good watering early on a hot day, aftre which I probably do the same every second time I water the others.

I generally don't bother to check for roots anymore, but another 'method' is to pop the cutting in a dark cool corner or closet and forget about it for a while, then rediscover it and yay! roots (and probably etiolation). Then just plant it and give it a couple of weeks before watering as normal.

  4. Ive heard they can produce seed without a partner, is there anything i can do to encourage this ?

Yes williamsii is self-fertile, apparently you can just wiggle a paintbrush or cotton tip inside the flower.

I had a go at this last week and am currently awaiting results, but I know it has worked for many others here.

  5. Authorities continue to investigate what could be the components needed to set up a drug laboratory in Liberty to manufacture dimethyltryptamine, a hallucinogenic drug known as DMT.

Sheriff Bob Boydston said the Clay County Drug Squad, comprised of area law enforcement agencies, was still trying to sort out the items found in an apartment at the Jefferson Park apartment complex, 1220 Missouri Court. What is believed to be ingredients for making DMT was sent to a Kansas City lab for analysis, he said.

While the finished product was not found at the scene, Boydston said significant precursors needed to make the drug were found.

    No arrests have been made.

“It’s amazing what people find to put in their bodies,” Boydston said. “I’m not a chemist, but I understand that DMT is similar to meth and gives you similar hallucinations to LSD.”

According to information on the Internet, the drug can be made from materials extracted from tree bark and other plants. The drug is most commonly smoked in a pipe or joint and produces a high that can last from 10 minutes to an hour, depending on the dosage and form of DMT consumed.

    LIBERTY, MO (KCTV) -

Neighbors remain on edge after authorities uncovered an unusual psychedelic drug made from tree bark during a bust in a Northland neighborhood.

The raid Tuesday afternoon at the Jefferson Park Apartments near Highway 291 centered around the drug called dimethehyltryptamine, or DMT. It is chemically processed, much like methamphetamine, and then smoked.

Those who live in the area describe the apartment complex as quiet and relatively safe. Becky Springer witnessed the raid about 1 p.m. when she came home from school.

"[There were] cops blocking off certain areas, people carrying out bags of things, mason jars," Springer said.

Clay County Sheriff Bob Boydston said that deputies removed several ounces of the drug placed into packages. The drug was tested on the scene and is now being tested in a lab.

    No arrests have been made.

"I don't really feel comfortable living near a drug lab," Springer said. "There are tons of children in this neighborhood, so I don't think this is a good thing for our neighborhood at all."

According to the DEA the drug, DMT, is a psychedelic, and it is usually mixed with other drugs and can be sniffed, smoked or injected. The high lasts 45 minutes to an hour and gained popularity in the 60s.

The drug was also was put under the Controlled Substances Act in 1971. The DEA reports at high doses, users have experienced coma and respiratory arrest.

  6. The conscious, rational mind is only a small part of knowing, but we make so much of it.. maybe because it allows us to maintain some semblance of control.

The great ocean of the unconscious registers, remembers and knows vastly more than the sliver of consciousness that emerges from it like the primordial mound.

By definition, this knowledge cannot be accessed or assessed consciously, only intuitively.

  7. bogfrog it's common to experience different levels and to slip in and out of lucidity. I have been lucid in dreams that still seemed to be 'on tracks' and have become fully lucid and then slipped back into accepting the dream as real.

As a point of interest, Jung thought dreams were compensatory, so flying dreams might indicate an underlying sense of powerlessness or inferiority for example.

'ego' is a variously defined word, but the sense in which people usually refer to ego death generally means the loss of a sense of a discrete self.

  8. It is possible to over do these techniques.

Quite a few times I've been in a dream and practicing the techniques, and closed my eyes (in the dream) and dreamt a second dream where I'm practicing the techniques and realise I'm dreaming, then wake up from the second dream and try to 'fall asleep' again so I can go back to dreaming... these dreams within dreams are interesting and quite fun, but also very disorientating and recursive... I can see how people could believe that reality is a dream. All we really ever do is percieve in one form or another, so it's a hard question to answer. I often wonder if I'm a blob in a tank somewhere, but can't think of an experiment to test that hypothesis...

A particularly funny incident happened when I was explaining to my friend the lucidity techniques and saying "I can tell when I'm dreaming most of the time' - My friend gave me a really quirky knowing smile - and only after I'd woken up did I realise that I was talking to a dream friend - So funny, I can recall the look even now, it was a 'haha yeah sure you can, except right now ya dill' - I love dreaming :)

Qualia: Practicing lucid dreaming has by far been the most rewarding thing I've done, it also helps to take your mind of the daily grind and switch into sleep mode. I'm terrible at sitting and meditating, but I find my meditation is done before, during and after bed time - I find lucid dreams to be the most relaxing and life changing experiences - you can re-wire yourself whilst you're sleeping, solve problems, etc... :)

Yes as you say, it is not always easy to tell if you are dreaming in a dream, especially when false awakenings and dreams within dreams are involved.

Nevertheless. it is quite straightforward to rule out the possibility you are dreaming when awake.

Waking life could be something like a dream but regardless of the similarities it is distinguishable from the dreams we have when we are asleep.

  9. practicing all those techniques to tell whether you're in a dream or not has one obvious drawback: unless you're lucid dreaming, you're not going to be able to interrogate yourself in the dreaming state.

Hence all they're useful in proving is that you're NOT dreaming, but none of them will identify, EVER- if you are in a non-lucid dream. And thus they are pretty uselss, apart from habits of reality-mind with which to develop lucid dreaming.

It is the success of the technique that helps you become lucid, not lucidity that makes the technique work.

eg. in a dream you wonder 'is this as dream?' You check by using one of the technoques above, realize it is a dream and become lucid.

Realizing it is a dream is how you become lucid, not the other way around.

Anyway, I think anything that reliably fosters lucid dreams is far from useless.

*edit: I missed the part where you said about not being able to interrogate yourself unless already lucid, but that is not true. If you do these enough while awake, the habit eventually spills into dreams and you do the check without consciously thinking about it, and then you may become lucid. The techniques are for inducing lucid dreams, so it wouldn't make much sense if one already had to be lucid to employ them, would it?
