Earthpod order, 1 year on and still not received!

About three years ago I bought a few things from Earthpod, and never had any problems, until I ordered a couple of big bags of poppy seeds, and never got them, then Adrian offered to refund my money, and I never got that either... I didn't chase him down about it, because I just couldn't be bothered with the hassle. When people don't return your emails and make promises they don't keep, you can be pretty sure you're never going to get any money from them. Everybody has problems now and then, but it's kind of lame to say you just can't pay the money back... you could at least say you will pay the money back eventually, but I guess you have no intentions of ever doing so. Even if you did it gradually over the next few years, at least you would be making an effort. I don't expect to get any money back, and I don't care, but I hate these "poor old Adrian" threads.

    music thread

Pinback rocks! They are definitely at the top of my list of favorite music at the moment, I liked Blue Screen Life best at first, but lately I can't stop playing Summer In Abaddon. Sigur Ros are also pretty amazing, I wish I could have made it up to Auckland to catch them last month. For some really bizarre underground hiphop, check out cLOUDDEAD... like underground as in the caverns of hell maybe. I just got an album from this guy buy a group called Sphongle... they sound pretty trippy.

    faces in plants

Oh yeah, remainds me of something that happenned after me and my bro drank some 'green tea'. We were sitting by the river and there was these big trees on the other side, and I said "hey look, at that spot just there, it looks like a green man face" and my bro slowly turned to look at me, bemused and slightly shocked and said "I can see green man faces everywhere, that's what I've been trying to tell you all day". Then I remembered a few occasions throughout the day where he'd been looking really scared at the bushes and trees and I just lost it.

I read about this stuff a while ago as well, there's some pretty interesting books about this stuff.. check out amazon and search for "green man". Oh, and check out my post regarding my first introduction to the green man here: http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/inde...74&hl=green+man

    At last!

Right, so they can do that, hey? One of the big fella's at the nursery where I scored this little guy had what looked like a normal pup growing off of it.

    At last!

At last I have secured a monstrose pachanoi in NZ! The guy I bought this off had at least fifty of them, most of them a lot bigger, but he would only part with this one little baby! I'll keep hassling him out though. Here is a picture of the little guy next to what I think is a Spachianus, whcih I got from the same place.

    Cutting planting advice needed.

That one next to the wine bottle looks a lot like the cactus people in NZ are calling Juul's giant... I've got a bunch of logs that are almost identical to that.

How long does green tea last?

Man, I feel sorry for you... what a big fat waste of time! I put mine in a dolmio's jar, cause they're not as airtight... plus, make sure you let it cool to room temp before popping it in the freezer.

I found these in some dead leaves in a big reserve... any idea what they are? I tried to take a spore print, but the only open heads looked like they'd already lost most of their spores. BTW, I am in Christchurch, New Zealand.

How long does green tea last?

The biggest problem with leaving it out of the fridge will be mold and bacteria... Nan from the nook reckons he's thawed frozen juice that's been there for five years with no loss of strength. I've also heard that if you let all the plant cells settle into a sediment in the fridge for a couple of weeks, then freeze and thaw once or twice, even more sediment settles out if you let it sit a bit longer.
  15. Hey, check out this guys plan to rule the world: http://www.sas.org/tcs/weeklyIssues_2006/2...re1p/index.html I know this probably belongs in another forum, but I included it here because of the uncanny similarity to botanika's post here: http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/inde...?showtopic=9113 I'm assuming that all these theories involve the people proposing them as part of the ten percent. I'd take it a lot more seriously if they'd show us just how serious they were by doing themselves in first. I can just imagine what they'd say: Mad Scientist: "so you guys are going to do it right after me, hey?" Doomed 90%: "yyyyeeeeaaaahhh, sure we are" Crazy bastards.

    Salvia experiences

Hey Rev, can you chew the dried extract, and if so, how much would you need? My brother tried a sublingual dose of 5x, and reckons it didn't do anything. I've got some 5X at home (in NZ), I'm not really tempted to try smoking it, as the effects sound a bit delirious, too much like my experiences with Datura *shudder*. Anyway, what do you reckon?

I thought you could do the same in Morrowind? Maybe I'm getting mixed up with Arcanum. Hey Botanika, what system are you running it on, mine's struggling to keep up whenever there's some magic light explosion thingy.

    2012

Yeah, sounds like the kind of stuff naive kids were talking about back in the sixties. Not sure I like a lot of the changes that have happenned since then. I tend to agree with whoever said they think things are degrading, not getting better. Shit, look around you. It's nothing unusual though, every great empire has its ascent and plateau, and then descends into disorder. The empire of the West is no different. The eventual collapse of the US will probably trigger it. Some corny cliche like "those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it" comes to mind...

    17 Year Old Girl Hanged

Haven’t been in here for a while, looks like I started a bit of a shit storm… Apothecary and Rev are spot on in pointing out that the timing and prominence of this story is a tool that is being used to soften up the masses to accept the US’s obvious plans for invading Iran… I didn’t think about that when I posted it though, this story just particularly disturbed me for some reason (I don’t know why, I’ve read about much worse and continued on as blasé as ever). Yeah, that’s what I’ve basically been doing, because it’s that or my sanity, but I don’t really think that this is necessarily the best way, either… its just too insulating. During the massive brainwashing campaign that secured majority consensus for the recent Iraq invasion, I was actively educating myself and others about what a crock of shit it was, but not many people seemed to really care that much. One person I know summed up the attitude I think is characteristic of the general Australian population when he responded to some of the things I told him with a scornful skepticism and said “but if that was true, then why isn’t it on TV or something?” At this stage, we hadn’t even had a TV for years, and so we borrowed one and started watching the nightly news… scary stuff. It was really disturbing for us to see the blatant propaganda that was splashed up on the screen every night. I was so depressed when John Howard got re-elected after the bullshit stories surrounding the Iraq invasion that I left Australia, which is what I’d said I would do if he got elected him back into office. Since then, I’ve pretty much avoided anything that even resembles news, including alternative media in basically any form… its just too much for me right now. We still don’t have a TV, so I was downloading the latest Survivor series at an internet café when I saw this story on the ‘shoutwire’ (whatever that is). My time at the café is limited, so I wasn’t exactly critically reflecting on it, or its ramifications. To be honest, even though in the immediate wake of the initial Iraq invasion, I was telling people that Iran would be next, I actually had forgotten all about this as I sat in the café, and in fact didn’t even register that it happened in Iran until the next time I read the post I had made on this forum. So why am I boring everyone with this? Well, looking at the bigger picture (which I usually avoid these days, because it’s too depressing), I can see how people like Apothecary and Rev find the story’s existence and prevalence as a news item even more disturbing than the content, because it is so similar to the kind of stories that were brainwashing everyone in the lead up to the US invasion of Iraq, also I suppose it affects a lot more people in a much more subversive way. I think their warnings are definitely necessary, but that doesn’t mean that people who are horrified at the injustice of the situation are necessarily being manipulated by the media. I am still horrified, but remain more horrified by what the US and Australia are doing. Bizarrely, I joined Amnesty International not long after posting this, and although I made no conscious link between the two, I thin it was probably part of my impetus to do so. This is the first step I’ve made towards anything even resembling an active opposition to global injustice in a couple of years. So anyway, that's probably enough self justification for now.
