Where to find Sida acuta (wireweed)

Sida rhombifolia! Maybe acuta is a sinonym. Anyways... I use it in many herbal preparations... it can be used to treat Tuberculosis! It can help in skeletal issues. It grows naturaly here in my country and I can get plenty of seeds.
  2. I didn't know that a lot of people doesn't remember their dreams... I'm not presuming of it... it's just a fact. There's an ancient technique that's known as 'Dream yoga' in spanish (I don't really know the name in english...). It involves too many things that can't be discussed through here but the fact is that trying to remember your dreams after you wake up is the best you can do for training your dream recall or oneiric memory. The way to do that is simple: Do not move right after you wake up!! Try to remember your last moment in the dream and from there go backwards until you remember the first moment of the dream. Then have a writing booklet and write all the dream, just general facts (If you remember all the dream and want to write details you will spend an entire hour or more just for writing it). Do this daily and sometimes read your writings until then and you will start to notice your progress. This will also improve the color and details of the dream until all your dreams will get so lucid that they will seem more real that the 'reality' that we already know, and this is because that 'The dream world' is truly more real than this material world. You will get to the moment where you can smell delicate aromas and fell fine surfaces, all will be a lot more brilliant and colorful than never. From this point you are at one step from lucid dreams. Next step is astral projection. Some people thinks that that's bad because you left the body, but you do it every night, the difference is that you are not aware of it. The idea is to make your body to sleep without loosing attention of the process so you will going to start dreaming totally aware, similar to a lucid dream. Normally when you go to sleep you mind starts to project all your memories and all the impressions that you've collected through the day so you are totally distracted and when your body begins to sleep you don't notice it because of the 'world of illusions where you are when thinking' then outside of your physical body you keep living the illusion that your mind projected because the astral light (material of which the 'dream world' is made of mostly) takes the form of your mental projections and that's why you dream stupid things. This happens in the daily life too. Most people let their mind trip away and that's also the reason why they're not aware in dreams, because they're not aware in they're normal life neither. Astral projection is better than lucid dreams only because you start dreaming totally aware from the beginning so you are already in the Real 'dream world' which is a real copy of this physical world. When in lucid dreams, you are already in the fake world made by your mind so you'll have a hard time trying to get out of that illusion and enter to the real 'dream world' but you can always do it. Other thing that people thinks is that you can get stuck there and you will not be able to return but that's false. It just takes to say 'I want to wake up' to wake up. When in the real 'dream world' you can go to visit people or places, you can see what's in other room or even in the bottom of your house, and all those experiences will be analogue to the physical world, it's really true. The first thing you will notice if you make the astral projection is that your physical body lies in your bed. For those who have had this sort of experiences you know what I mean. So all the things that you can do there are unlimited, the limit is your mind. All what you want to know lies in that world. This is the last advice: When on a lucid dream, try not to think!!! I know that sound weird for some of you but you have to do it. Try to make things with your heart, feelings, intuition... If you put too much mind you will mostly wake up or get stuck in a wall or something like that... That's why the limit is your mind. It will be so real that you could think that how are you going to pass through a wall and when you try to do it you will surely get stuck. Don't think! That's the ultimate advice. It only takes to say 'I want to go to (place where you want to go)' and just jump and fly to there. You will feel it. Use your imagination. Just be aware of everything and don't lose sense of your being. If you forget you, you will get fascinated with the things there and will loose the awareness of the fact that you are in a dream and it will turn into a normal dream with the typical mind stupidities and unconsciousness. The rest is just about you... Experience will give you what you need to know what to do and what not to do. Other thing that will help you will be trying to be aware in the normal day. Try not to forget your being, always aware of your body and what is happening, total awareness without distractions of mind thoughts, just that and constantly make the question 'Am I dreaming?' and jump trying to float in the air or pull your finger with the intention of stretching it. Dream plants can help you, but they're not necessary. I would prefer to enjoy the fruits of my hard work rather than the help of the spirits of the plants because that has it's own price too... I'm not an expert and I haven't got to the point where I can do it at willing but I do have experienced a little bit with it Do not practice it with desire, just do it without putting too much importance within the result because that will also be the mind and what you want is to control your mind from the moment you get to your bed, until you fall-asleep and so on with the capacity you have to remind aware in the dream, it will also increase with the practice. Sorry for all the info guys, but that's the best I can do. Hope this info helps you!

    Cestrum parqui - anyone experienced?

Well... the ritual use of the plants is another thing haha When a plant is used in a ritualistic way, the one that is using it knows how to talk with the 'Spirit' of the plant, so the 'Spirit' doesn't play bad games with the user... But when the 'Spirit' is underestimated you can even die. That's why the rituals exist and they are known by people who knows how to talk with the 'Spirit' of the plant. I wouldn't try that smoked haha A lot of people says that smoking Solanaceaes or eating they're seeds turns out into going to hell... Also I know of someone that made a Brugmansia tea and two weeks later, when he came to his senses after trying to pickup a wooden bank, he was in Jail trying to pickup the cement bank haha Better learn the rituals and how to talk with the plant so it'll be safe and the plant will help you ;)

    Cestrum parqui - anyone experienced?

I'm not sure if this species of Cestrum has Tropanes... I've heard that it's very toxic to cows and other animals and also in humans. I could think that it has a similar effect like Amanita phaloides, within one day they report to have Hepatic diseases... I wouldn't try that if you were me :S In the other hand, here in my country it's said that Cestrum nocturnum is narcotic and the thing that they eat is the fruits. All Cestrum are said to contain similar compounds but I don't know... I would think it twice also with C. nocturnum.... Good luck!

    Potent sedative plants...

Yes, caapi could be effective but be careful of bad combinations with Banisteriopsis or you'll be dead in 10 hours.

    Coleus blumei

Mix it with some heroin, says gtarman haha

    Potent sedative plants...

Try to learn and practice meditation every day, when you can control your mind it's better and you can do more fascinating things rather than being knocked off. Anyways, if you don't want to try it, they say that a little tip of a mandrake root should do the work.

    Coleus blumei

I agree with the essential oils, but other components could just evaporate in some plants. That's why you make infusions with soft plant material, I mean for making teas for treating any ill or just for the ingest. For making soaps you could boil everything and the fragrances will remain. For example, if Coleus were active in tea, you make an infusion but you don't boil the leaves so you would be getting most of the components of the plant. But if you do boil it, the ingestion wouldn't be so effective. It's just a fact for the experiments of ingestion.

    Coleus blumei

I have a tip for the people that doesn't know this, maybe this could help: When you have soft material (Leaves, flowers) you don't have to boil them with the water. You just boil the water and turn off the fire, then immediately you drop the material inside, cover the pot, and let it stay for about 30 min. then you can drink the water. That's the right way to make an infusion. You never boil the plant material. If you boil the soft materials, most of the components evaporate and you stay with almost nothing and obviously the plant wont work. For hard plant materials (Roots, seeds, steam, bark etc...) you have to boil the water first, then when it's boiling you throw the material and let it boil with the water for about 5 minutes (unless you're making Ayahuasca or another special recipe) then you turn off the fire, cover the pot and let it stay for about 30 min. then you can drink the water. If you don't boil the hard material, it won't release most of the components and the plant won't work too. It's important that you make any beverage in a pot like this http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OO52PnR-HKU/Tf9r67HQnyI/AAAAAAAAHA0/w9nDds6TG5Q/s400/peltre.jpg this is because the aluminium pots release some particles that could be harmful mixed with the tannines of some barks. I've been studying natural and traditional medicine for about 4 years until now. Maybe this could help some of you with your researches and experiments. Hope so!
  10. The soil is drying very well. Because of the control of the plant I just opened a little bit the box and let the plant inside it anyways. The humidity is the same as outside. The plant gets filtered light and the sucking slugs can't go through. Let's see if your advice is true, it sounds for me very logical! Now the plant is growing another shoot from the other side. In a few days I will post another pics. Thanks.
  11. Hello again! I've just wanted to post another tragic history of Sally haha This time the vendor sent me a cutting with roots and leaves on the top. The trip was of 15 days until it finally made it into my house but the top leaves and steam was already rotten so I cut the rotten material and like 1 cm more to prevent but it continued rotting the steam all the way down until I had to leave it with a nod nearly the soil and the 5 cm of underground steam and roots. My vendor says that it still has chances and that it will produce new shoots. I have it in a plastic box and I spray it 2-3 times at day to maintain the humidity. Do you think that it has chances to survive or I better resign and just cultivate Coleus, that is a common plant in my sad country? First pic is how it was 5 days ago. Second one is how it is now. Greetings for all!
  12. I knew you were going to say that about the soil haha Actually I've watered her only when I first changed her to the actual soil. It IS in a dome and I think that's why the soil was like that because I sprayed the walls 2-3 times at day to maintain the humidity. I read it in various places. But when I took the photos I realized what you're saying so I left it still in the dome but now I'm not spraying it, and the soil is better now. It is starting to dry. About the roots, actually it has big roots that cover almost a 60% of the total soil in the pot. I hope the roots haven't started to rot yet. At which time do you think the roots start to rot?
  13. Well this is the progress of the almost dead cutting. I guess this time it got successful. What do you think?

    Want to buy: Chili seeds

I can trade with you some seeds of the Red Mayan Habanero and Yellow Habanero. I also have seeds of 'chiltepe', 'diente de perro', 'cobanero' and some others...
  15. Thank you. Actually, my country is behind Mexico and the weather here is similar to the Sierra Mazateca, but a bit less humid (I live in a mountain 1700m). By the way, the rot in my plant (or pseudo-plant) has stopped and it stayed the same like the second photo. It is growing new roots and I hope it will grow new shoots in a few days... It's just a matter of time, I think. Do you think that Sd is much more faddy that Coleus to grow?
  16. You're right... It was because the first soil was very hard and damp for the roots, so I've done that in exchange of not getting root-rot because that would have been worst... So you're the first one giving me hope, thank you haha
  17. I would do that too... But the thing is that he's not an official vendor. He's just a humble person from Oaxaca, Mexico and he does his best. And the most important thing, he's THE ONLY ONE by the moment who agreed to sell me a Sally plant... Hahaha I don't know why but the 'professional' vendors only sell in they're country or don't want to send a discrete package to pass the f***ing customs without getting my poor sally burned haha And it's not illegal here... What is your advice to help me getting the plant? I've tried with almost all vendors in the web and I've only got the actual vendor.

    Mandrake cultivation discussion

I purchased 5 mandrake seeds but I didn't plant them immediately after I got them and because they die very fast I just got one to germinate. It was very beautiful and began to grow new leaves but one day the leaves started to wilt so I transplanted it to the garden, because it was in a plastic bag, and one week later it was nothing there... It's a shame... One day I will purchase some more seeds. I still don't have an idea of why she died...
  19. Haha it had that soil just in the first pic, the first 3 days. Then I got some vermiculite and change it. (Second pic)
  20. I don't know if it's going to be a next time This is second time... haha No, it's just the pic.The rot came from the top. The bottom part is still very green. Last time I made a similar post and it's still. If is not legal, I'm sorry, I didn't know haha The package had some good soil so the roots where still alive. I've changed the soil too, now is in vermiculite with white sand like the second pic. By the way, I think that the rotting avalanche has stop. Still no hopes?

    Salvia divinorum cutting without leaves

Finally it's dead haha I guess I don't have hope will Sally...
  22. Hello everyone. I've got a cutting of Salvia divinorum but I've never seen of anyone rooting and growing Salvia from an non-leaf cutting... So I want to ask if any one had made that. My cutting doesn't have leaves neither roots... ¿Will he make it?

    Salvia divinorum cutting without leaves

thanks Planthelper. Yes, I live in the mountains like at 1700m. It is a forest with some humidity in the area... And what you are saying is what I want to do! haha I'm actually studying natural and traditional medicine and this plant has some interesting properties, and I'm not talking of the ritual use. For example, if you have pain in a joint, if you bath with S.d. water then the next day you will not have pain. There are many uses for it, the mazatec indians say... And yes, I will do that. Now I have Banisteriopsis caapi cuttings and some Tetrapterys spp. seeds. I've seen that many people is seeking for Tetrapterys. If I have success with the cutting I will post some pics, although I've read that sometimes even when the cutting has turned black and dry it still have chances of living because it grows some shoots from the ground... So it's only matter of time.
