A fruit that makes sour taste sweet! I want to know if theirs anyone that can help? When i was young my neighbour had a little shrub growing in a pot that got little red berries when it fruited, after you ate one you could eat a lemon & it taste as sweet as sugar, he called it a miracle fruit tree (of coarse). When i was about 13 i found one at a nursery on the sunshine coast, but its now long gone. Can anyone help me with the real name of this plant or even better know were they can be obtained? Cheers jox

There is a big difference between a young man who makes mistakes & sorts them out & grows & a young man who can continuously deceives his mates! I'm amazed by the good hearted people here & take my hat of to you all!! Cam i'm only new here & don't mean to offend, i can see you have some genuine friends & think you are very lucky. At the end of the day Cam your the only one that knows what kind of young man you are. Whatever the outcome i wish you the best.

Its a beautiful looking plant i think its Acacia cultriformis (Knife-leaf wattle). Natural distribution is on ridges of western slopes, tablelands & plains of NSW & into Inglewood-Stanthorpe regions of southern QLD, through cultivation their now found from Tassie to n/e QLD.

Hi Nexuswalker you said some grow in North Queensland including a red but most of them don't taste all too nice. I spend a fair bit of time in the s/e QLD rainforest & have found 2 species of finger limes the more common citrus australasica var. australasica which has green, yellow or blackish fruit & citrus australasica var. sanguinea which has a crimson red fruit, as far as i know var. sanguinea is only found in a few locations & is only in the s/e of QLD. Do you happen to know what the species is that gets the red fruits in n/e QLD?

Went for a walk this week in s/e QLD & found some beautiful A.obtusifolia, they had heaps of seed pods & I had a couple of question about the seeds. The plants I found had pods on them from last season that were dry & brown but still closed they also had fresh pods from this year which are green & just starting to go brown, my 1st question is should these green pods be left to dry out before useing the seeds? 2nd question, whats the best time of year to plant A.obtusifolia seeds? If anyone has anymore advise i'd love to hear it. Cheers Jox
