    diy chilli sauce

I tend to chop my chillis before I process them - the seeds and pith (white bit) add heat but not flavour. Doing it outside is a v. good idea. I have pepper sprayed myself so many times!!

Mans job reinstated after drug sacking.

His partner smokes up to 15 cones a day but he can get it mixed up w/ dill. That's kind of beautiful.

    IN trouble with the law

Best of luck to your mate. It sucks that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Damage is already done, but he should stop hanging out with the kinds of people who break into houses? Get a lawyer get a lawyer get a lawyer. And keep a clean house for as long as possible, 6 months is a good start.

    My new Aussie Trich collection

Good gravy you have been busy! I adore your crests! Did you have a cacti budget set when you moved over?
  5. I purchased this cactus from Bunnings a few months back - the tag just said 'echinopsis'. As you can see, it's pupping like mad, so it'll be a good display regardless of what it is. Also I saw this succulent at the local botanical gardens. I need it in my life. I know it's not really a typical id request for this forum, but any light you can shed would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Alright, removing the label. M S Smith, you said that the pupping could be caused by less-than-optimal conditions. Currently the plant is on a verandah (concrete-floored) that gets around 4 hours of direct sunlight a day. I live in NQ, so temps are around 22 - 30c atm. I water roughly fortnightly, every second watering is with a 10ml/9L solution of Seasol. Is there anything I should be doing/shouldn't be doing that would improve conditions? I'll post more pics when it's had time to grow. I'm still very new to cacti, as is probably very blatant at this point. I greatly appreciate the discussion.
  7. Thanks for the replies! I am so grateful that this forum exists. I'm labelling as spachianus. The pupping started a few weeks after I bought it, and hasn't let up yet. Gypsohila looks right - now to find a vendor! I love huge, imposing Daedric-style plants. Don't really have the space to grow it but I will make space. Need this sucka.

    Dead drops

For real, I have enough trouble keeping a USB stick working when it's on my keyring, one exposed to the elements would crap out immediately.

    The Sowing Out Thread

Thanks for the reply, Evil Genius! I sourced from Australian vendors, so I don't know where they wholesale. I'll try drying for a while, and direct sunlight as much as practical. I work the night shift, so it's difficult to move things around during the day. Thank you for telling me about Gibberilinic Acid, I've got some research to do! Pachanoi are open-air now. A few of the tiniest ones didn't survive the transition, but all the others seem happy enough.

Harry Potters Step-brother arrested for rioting.

The same dude was also cut out of the last movie after being busted growing pot. I was one of those people lining up opening day for each book after the 4th. It was a good ride.

    The Sowing Out Thread

A bit more than a month on: 42/50 Pachanoi have sprouted. I'm slowly hardening these off to open-air. I've moved the seedlings to a giant zip-loc, and every few days I'm unzipping it a little more. When it's fully unzipped I'm going to start rolling the sides down until I can remove them from it entirely. They seem happy with the treatment so far. 1/50 Peruvianus, it looks so lonely!! 0/25 Macrogonus All were planted and kept in identical conditions, as far as I can tell. I used seedling trays with sterilised cactus soil mixed with sand (unsure of %), thoroughly wettened, kept in one of those $7 greenhouse containers. The container was opened daily to wipe out condensation and get some fresh air in. The container was kept on a desk next to the window, which is bright but doesn't get direct sun. Is there anything I can do to encourage the Peruvianus and Macrogonus, or should I write those off?

    Contagion (2011) Movie

STOP TOUCHING YOUR FACE. Pretty forgettable movie. I saw it when it was in theatres and really can't remember very much of it. The previews made it look like a disaster movie, but instead it bounced between disaster movie and procedural and didn't do either very well. If you're keen on seeing it, rent it on Dollar Tuesday.

    Blue Lotus

I know red wine's the favoured way, but I personally wouldn't do that. Once you open red wine it starts oxidising, if you leave it to steep it'll be vinegar by the time you drink it.

    Ask the person below you

I don't know much about the tea, but Passionflower is a bad idea. MAOI's and suboxone do not play nicely together. What should I have for dinner tommorrow?

    first time beard grower :)

One of the few good things about my partner being unemployed is that he can rock a beard again. I am a fan of a decent beard, any man owes it to the world to see if he's one of the lucky ones.

    Aussie farmer grows 385kg pumpkin

Peter, Peter pumpkin eater, Had a wife but couldn't keep her; He put her in a pumpkin shell And there he kept her very well.
  22. I am a fan of lion's tail, haven't successfully managed to cultivate it yet though. Leaves are much harsher to smoke, and opinion really varies as to how active they are. I've found that most places touting the benefits of the leaves are trying to sell the leaves. Whatever you end up using, mix in a little clove for a much more pleasant smoke.
  23. For a gag gift once I hollowed out a copy of Twilight and stuck a flask in it. That in itself took hours. I can't imagine how much time those would take. Thank you for sharing this.
  24. I am a cactus noob, so I am sorry if this is a dumb question. One of my cactus cuttings recently got root rot, so I sliced off that part. In the cross-section, there's a white spot near the core. Are any of you able to tell me what this is, and if it's harmful to the plant?
