Acacia Id Please - Floribunda??
LokStok replied to Mycelia's question in Plant Identification (non-cactus)
yeah man, my hesitance with the 2nd pic is more of a feeling based mainly around the phyllode shape. I agree, anything is possible with a year (climatically) like this one. *edit-canna spell good ona sunday arvo -

mmmm, i agree with you about the entrenched levels of ignorance and complacency in "the west" about whats happening on the ground in countries like Uganda. Ive also seen enough of the horror in 3rd world countries to last me a lifetime. What interests me about Kony2012 is the experiment to test if something can be actually made to happen on a governmental level, when there is nothing in it for that government other than the perceived voter backlash if it doesnt act. It is the 2nd half of the video that looks at that possibility.

Yep, i agree. I think the go is to carefully remove a small amount of soil from around the root system of an established acacia (any, I used a big old A. iteaphylla), and add that to your potting mix.

Jonstn, thats an interesting tip you shared about soaking seeds in tea. Generally its best used for getting old seeds 'over the line' with the idea being that the tannins released from the tea soften the seed coat more than just plain water and make it easier for the life to bust through. What the FB tek didnt add was that it works best if the tea (or teabag) is re-boiled before using. Thats because the 1st hit of boiling water doesnt really leach out the tannin too well. It needs to stew abit then hit again for best results
