it seems fitting for political reflection...considering the share absurdity of contemporary western regimes...that imprison & exile their national hero's.........certainly pisses..gripes me off........particularly when NZ for a breif moment (elections) has an opportunity to make a stand & close down the 5th eye, (which NZ's ego likes to consider is a significant part of its cultural heritage...wank wank)...we all know we will follow Oz & the dumb kiwi will elect the same generic puppet pric, that presently holds office.

"Snowden: If you live in New Zealand, you’re being watched"

"Edward Snowden has dismissed as “false” the New Zealand PM’s claims of no mass surveillance in the country. The whistleblower says he regularly “came across communications of New Zealanders,” when he worked as an NSA analyst."

"Prime Minister’s comment drives home the need for New Zealanders to fast become familiar with what the United States-based spy agency does, its reach around the world, how it sets up sites in countries like ours, and most importantly what the National Security Agency (NSA), has already admitted to.

Once armed with that information, it is up to us all to exercise our view of this matter by exercising our vote on Saturday."

Parliament is about to consider a range of changes to Australia's security laws introduced by the Abbott government during its last sitting. The most controversial measures in the National Security Legislation Amendment Bill 2014 (Cth) include stronger anti-whistleblower provisions and a "special intelligence operations" regime that would grant ASIO officers immunity from civil and criminal liability.
