emcat Posted April 7, 2014 So I found 4 HBWR seeds while tidying up and decided to plant them. All 4 germinated and are growing well. But I'm not sure what to do with them now. Is it possible to grow them outside in Victoria? We had a few heavy frosts where I live last year, also some dry spells. Would they work as indoors plants? obtuse Posted April 7, 2014 They are a tropical vine. i suspect you may have problems. i grew mine in greenhouse and as soon as they got a sniff of the cool autumn weather they died, almost as if they committed suicide rather than suffer the trauma.
katu Posted April 17, 2014 G'day emcat, you'll definitely need a greenhouse or in the very least to protect it over the colder months. I think I remember reading somewhere that although A.nervosa can be grown outside of a tropical climate that you've got buckleys chance of it ever setting flowers. Hope this helps.
