Guest Ramon Posted November 16, 2000 The plant is also know as Trichocereus bridgesii monstrose form. I don't know where you get in Monaco but in Australia they are fairly common
Guest MICHAEL Posted November 17, 2000 Ramon - you say t.bridgesii is common...where in Bris-vegas would I find some? any-old nursery that stocks cacti?
Torsten Posted November 18, 2000 We've got a few total Penis plants, that never seem to revert to normal. however, I noticed this year that most of our normal bridgesii are putting out the occasional monstrose bit. Even plants that I got as 80cm straight sticks have decided to produce monstrose bits this year. I wonder if it is the weird climate we had this spring. rkundalini Posted December 9, 2000 So you use any chemicals at all Torsten? Miracle Gro tends to promote pupping, I wonder whether it or other chems could promote monstrose bits...
Torsten Posted December 10, 2000 We only use dynamic lifter and sometimes fish emulsion in our garden. I think it had something to do with the weird weather (hot and dry spring after a short and cold winter), cos now that the weather is normal, they mostly grow normal again. Bummer.
