DeadStar Posted January 12, 2020 I have a catha plant that is getting very straggly and want to know if it will back bud on old growth if I give it a chop. Thanks in advance
waterboy 2.0 Posted January 20, 2020 As long as you have some growth that's at least semi hard it'll shoot off the stem, and it usually forces some suckers on. Slower to reluctant from hardwood though. If the roots are good and happy, they can take off cut back to ground and recover from fresh suckers. Springs a better time for being brutal IME. Growing conditions will influence, like size if in container. Keeping water up for sappy /green growth.
DeadStar Posted January 20, 2020 Thanks heaps waterboy. I have neglected it in the last couple of years and it's looking a little sad. I might fert and keep it happy till next spring and then go all Friday the 13th on it
sagiXsagi Posted March 11, 2020 is it the wide variety?? it seems the wide variety is more likely to go untidy than the narrow leaf vars. Any updates??
