acacia id please

Question

Hi all, attached are some pics of the acacias I have growing all round my block at my new place in Qld. Looking to confirm id. I was thjnking longfolia, maybe obtuse, but i really dont know, they all loom the smae jn the pictures ive seen, and im no expert at plant ids

im on the Fraser coast, between Harvey bay and Maryborough.

These all appear to be the same to me, there are a couple of different trees shown. One younger specimen, and one old one that looks sick, and an olde one that still looks to be thriving.

These are all around the area, and to me look the same as those growing on the side of the bruce highway in this area.

Any help greatly appreciated. Let me know if better pics, or additional info is needed.

There is plenty of trees around here Thunder, when some set seed ill collect you a handful. Havent been here long enough to know when that will be, but with the vast amount of mature trees within a short walk of my back door it wont be a problem :)

Ill check out floribunda, could well be it.

Anyone got any ideas on what they might be?

As said i can take better pictures if it would help, just tell me what you want pics if specifically.

It ain't floribunda either, I was thinking more along the lines of a longifolia variety if it's flowering now, but I'm no expert.

Thanks people :) dont think its melanoxyon, as all the pics i saw of those have the little round pompom flowers, where as these are definitely more the long cylinders? (Not sure of the technical terms) Guess them go to about 5cm long.

Bark on the mature trees is rough, can see it in the background of second pic, but it seems smooth o the young trees.

I was thinking longfolia, but others have said no. The floweres dont seem as yellow as pics ive seen tho, generally paler.

What should I be looking for? To my untrained eye, they look like pics ive seen of longfolia, floribunda, even obtusfolia and others...

There have been flowers around for a few weeks at least, longer i think some of the flowers look to be finishng to me, some look to be in full swing. But the photos were taken yesterday.

i noticed what I assumed to be pollen (bright yellow dust) on a patch of my ute tonneua around where a spot of water had pooled and dried yesterday, so the flowers are definitely doing their thing.

Ill have a hunt around and see if i can see anything else i think might help id them.

Flowering time is a good place to start. Obtusifolia flower early summer, floris in spring, maidenii can be anywhere from summer right up to now- the maidenii near me still have occasional flowers on them. Longifolia should be starting to flower now.

Lol all good.

This acacia ID thing is a lot harder than i thought. Going for a bit of a walk along the roadside that my block back onto there are defintalt two types... if not three.

The ones the pics all have flowers and no seeds.

Type 2 has smoother bark, has just about finished flowering, and had seed pods that are all open, different leaves too, same shape and size, but different textutre... lots of secondary veins maybe, still not sure exactly what im looking at. But 100% different trees.

Possible 3rd type looked much like the first, but had heaps more flowers and the cylinders had a tendency to curl up.

These pics are of type 2. Im thinking these might be madenii??

edit: edited the wrong post and lost the pics. Now i getting internal server errors when i try and upload, so we will have to stick with this pic for now

I was thinking A. disparrima which is common in that area, but the new branchlet growth looks alot like Acacia leiocalyx, as the Ban Man said...

Thanks guys.

A.Leiocalyx looks good for the first lot of pics. I think the subspecies would be .leiocalyx basdd on worldwide wattels page. Sure there is likley the herveyensis subspecies not too far away tho.

http://www.worldwidewattle.com/speciesgallery/leiocalyx.php

A.Disparrima looks right for the second pic. Especially when you add i the seedpods as seen in wwwattle. Have a pic it just wou,dnt upload the other day, its now attached below.

http://www.worldwidewattle.com/speciesgallery/disparrima.php

The description an pics look bang on to me.

Thanks alot for everyones help!
