whitewind Posted June 21, 2012 Thought I would post a list of these, it came up when we were discussing whether Acacia phlebophylla was a weed or not.

whitewind Posted July 2, 2012 this is another good one: Common Weeds of Container Nurseries & their Control http://uq.edu.au/lca...urseryweeds.pdf That's really useful, it's amazing how much I have worked with these plants and never had a name for them! Every place, it seems, uses a different common name for many weeds too so the scientific name is a real gem. Sad that most of the controls are toxic chemicals; I have found that hand weeding is most effective, so long as you are willing to do the grunt. Using a pasteurized potting mix for all new stock, and using natural barriers (i.e. hedges) to keep out the wind-blown seeds works wonders too. I hate using chemicals. LokStok Posted July 2, 2012 Sad that most of the controls are toxic chemicals; I hate using chemicals. yeah i agree with that. I only use that reference for ID purposes. I have found that hand weeding is most effective, so long as you are willing to do the grunt. nothing beats it (especially if others are doing the grunting )
