That's really useful, it's amazing how much I have worked with these plants and never had a name for them! Every place, it seems, uses a different common name for many weeds too so the scientific name is a real gem.

Sad that most of the controls are toxic chemicals; I have found that hand weeding is most effective, so long as you are willing to do the grunt. Using a pasteurized potting mix for all new stock, and using natural barriers (i.e. hedges) to keep out the wind-blown seeds works wonders too.

I hate using chemicals.

yeah i agree with that. I only use that reference for ID purposes.

I have found that hand weeding is most effective, so long as you are willing to do the grunt.

 

nothing beats it (especially if others are doing the grunting :lol: )
