alice like shroom?

Question

hi!

hard to say just looking at the cap and nothing else

but with just looking at the cap i'm gonna say maybe gymnopilus dilepis

i tried to take a pic of the underneath, but it turned out crap.

i've never seen anything like it in my area, so i didn't do a spore print.

Probably from Boletales.

From that pic, my best bet would be Boletellus emodensis. There are a few Boletellus sp. that look similar though. If you can, send me the spores and I will try and narrow it down futher. Also a photo of the pores and any staining that happens to it would be helpful.

Also was it found in Eucalypt leaf litter?

Also could be Gymnopilus dilepsis after some research.

What domeboy said....if it stains deeeeeeep blue it's def Boleteus of some sort. Back I the day I did some research on it, turns out it was edible. Not saying that this one is though!!!

next time i know what to do now and i will, take pollen and try a spore print without damage to the shroom. yes it's eucalyptus litter substrate, and i think (not sure though) it had gills.

i tend towards boletellus sp.

domboy, i like your correct display of latin names!!
