  1. Irie, Well I've been potting up my seed grown babies from trays to individual pots.. Most of the seeds were from Evil Genius...many thanks bro, & maybe some others. Now some of them were tagged the same but look distinctly different..... Some have no tag at all! I really don't have much experience in the field of cacti..... So some of the tags I have; Aya x Pedro Bridgii X Pach Pach X Scop There were probably more ??? Seem to remember SSO2 X's?? I've added a few shot of some that were grafted....it might help?? Respect, Z

    Trich X's?

Irie, Well in my enviro, they last about 6-9mths....totally disposable... Plastic germination sandwich tubs will last 1-2yrs....but I guess they are out of the sun.. I usually have some charcoal in my compost mixes... The grafts are outside in the elements..... The graft stock is a local cactus, Pilosocereus (royenii??), that I know can take the local rainfall.... Respect, Z

    Trich X's?

Irie, Nah, I used to do it like but it pissed me off huffin the fumes!!! I always let my plants dry completely, so don't get algae... I use them for alot of different plants... Tend to go for 7oz & fill only about halfway.... in order to achive complete dry out... Plus they fit nicely into soft-drinks crates, which makes for easy transportation... Respect, Z

Now that's a vacation! Yeah mon, the pots work out good n cheap. I use a dremmel to punch 5 holes in the base....you have to scrape off the plastic on the bit, every 9 or so. I do them three at a time! Respect, Z
  6. Irie, Not sure if it's been discussed here??? But I'm just hearing about carnivora? Made from an extract of Venus Flytrap! Anyone know more??? Respect, Z

    Shamanic vine?

Irie, T. you could post it up on this thread, Banisteriopsis angustifolia very interesting! I was potting up some coffee seedlings today & came across a stick just sending new sprouts..... The label said Banisteriopsis muricata, but if it's the same vine I got from Kiwi, it maybe miss ID'd.... I think I remember tracing it down to Banisteriopsis mathiesea(?) I'll have to look it up later.... Respect, Z

    Shamanic vine?

Irie Bro, Nah problem mon! Just drop by! I was growing a local acacia that got knocked down by the last hurricane.... I did however harvest the root & bark!!! Really have not had the chance to try it out, less time than materials!!....but some may find it's way to your doorstep?? Somehow??? I'll find some pics soon! T. The whole tuber thing is quite interesting! I think the leaf can vary quite a bit! Respect, Z

    Shamanic vine?

Irie T, The reference to a tuber, nudged the grey matter & I remember studying, a vine that grows locally... Stigmaphyllon convolvulifolium More later! Respect, Z

    Shamanic vine?

Irie, Well that leaf looks a fair bit different from mine....Much more ivy leaf shape. Yes mine have a distinct copper/bronze colouration. A key would be great! I came across some descriptions of the cilia in the field notes of various herbariums. I'll try to post links later... Respect, Z

    Shamanic vine?

Irie, Here's some more photos.... I had dismissed Stigmaphyllon ciliatum, since it seemed to have a two-winged butterfly seed.... Respect, Z
  24. Zaka

    Shamanic vine?

Irie T, The cilia seem to occur on all points when leaf is young.... I'm leaning towards Stigmaphyllon sinuatum syn.Stigmaphyllon fulgens... Read a paper by D.Mckenna about this very species and it's regional variations. Not sure if it's made a tuber? But I'll find out soon! The seeds came to me as "White Caapi",single winged, the colour was the same as mahogany seeds.... I still have several that are in pots totally root bound.... The four or so I have in the ground are going crazy, growing much faster than my most vigorous Caapi.... I'll be sending out some samples to europe for analysis...... Respect, Z
  25. Zaka

    Shamanic vine?

Irie, Yeah no doubt it's a Malpighiaceae.... Most likely....stigmaphyllon sinuatum.(syn. fulgens)..? http://fm2.fieldmuseum.org/vrrc/max/MALP-stig-sinu-per-1696392.jpg The seeds looked like Caapi, single wing.... I'm not in Aus...sorry mate....would love to see the results of any tests.... Respect, Z
