  1. I bought a metre long bridge cut from him about a year ago, managed to score it for $20, but the postage was a fair bit. Beast of a cactus though, thick and beautiful. It's about 6 feet high now, with 2 offsets nearly half a metre each.

  2. I've had terrible luck trying to grow hylocereus. Whenever I intentionally try to grow them specifically they get orange rot. Whenever I throw cuttings away in the garden, they seem to grow ok, but they're in the place I don't want them. Maybe I'm trying too hard!

  3. Vibes to you.

I had to resign from a job that was killing me inside, even though I had no other job to go to and needed to support my family. I was being bullied by a senior director to the point where I'd arrive at work and sit in may car in the carpark for half an hour trying to will myself to go inside. I started to take xanax every day to numb myself enough to do it.

You'll be glad you did it once you're free, and something will come along soon.

    Super vibes.

  4. 3. I want to get away from the city office job trap semi-death thing. Ive been working a well paid job for a long time and although I am good at it, it just feels like im killing time until retirement or something. it pays very well but with 40 hours a week plus a 40 minute commute there and back it feels like a lot of my life is travelling, working, travelling, eating, sleeping and then im back. Problem is that I have no idea how people survive on less than fulltime hours - even with reasonable pay and frugallity we struggle to survive here on a single income. Bills just get higher and higher.

Once you get away from the major centres on the east coast, the cost of living comes down a fair bit, so it's easier to get by with less. You can do it even in Sydney, as long as you don't like eating out at restaurants, buying coffee, going to the pub, paying your bills on time...all that stuff's overrated anyway!

I hear you Zen Peddler, my family's been on a single income for a while, and sometimes it's a real struggle. I can't see us staying in Sydney too many more years, the cost of living is out of control.

  5. I think it's also worth noting that almost all studies of cannabis use and effects are related to smoking, whereas many medical users in particular choose edible products as their roa. This would mitigate any risks associated with smoking obviously.

As for recreational users, no doubt smoking is by far the most prevalent, but as vaping becomes more common, it will be interesting to see what research is carried out.

My opinion is that anyone who thinks smoking cannabis is healthy for their lungs and overall wellspring is deluded, but the committee is considering personal choice. That's what this comes down to, personal choice. If there was less moral hysteria around the topic in society, there would probably be better informed people, who are in a position to make personal choices based on good information.
