    Hypsizygus Ulmarius

your right NSF, not Hypsizygus. the decurrent gills says it a Pleurotus. deccurrent meaning the gills run down the stem (stipe). I am at the end of grow (3rd flush) of a so called ulmarius oyster. I started from print, I got from a Australian supplier of prints, cultures and mushroom growing supply's. I was suspicious from the start, because, there site did not show pic"s of the gills. after selecting 8 nice sectors on agar, transferring to slants and 2 substrates to grow out, I could not get them to pin at the recommended 10-13c. after 3 weeks I turn the temp up to 19c and they pined. after the 3rd day, looking at the pins I knew I had a Pleurotus not a Hypsizygus (my time screw with again). ok, the good out of this is I selected 2 of these, 1 a nice pure white oyster the other a grey/white oyster that both cook up nice for a oyster.

    a better led choice

yep both readings were from new strips. I cut 2 lengths with 9 leds each. the lux readings from both would be both slightly higher if I cut longer lengths. your right, led brightness weakens with age. I have some 5050s here that have ran 12hrs per day for 12 months+, will test soon.

really cool mushroom this one, as the bottom is breaking down as spore soup, the top part of the gills are still forming. has anyone tried eating these? i am only, finding 1 or 2 of these at a time. stem buts, seem easy to sprout myc on cardboard. are they worth propagating?

    mushroom on toast

not bitorquis here's a bit better pic including cap. the white ones in back ground could be bitorquis? the caps this year have a more mottle look to them, last year they were a solid brown.

    mushroom on toast

be waiting for these for weeks to pop up. and I a most mist them. done a quick drive by, several days ago and seen nothing. today I took a walk and they were everywhere. lot more grass around this year made them harder to spot. and being brown cap did not help. glad I got off my ass and walked around a bit. I thing mother nature demands, this from us. then rewards us.

    any id on this agaricus

found these in a forest of red gums. found several in groups of 2,3s and 4s. cap of the largest has a cap of 100mm. the print is dark brown, probably one of the densest prints I have see from a agaricus. the smell was very faint, smell a almond I believe.

Peroxide agar in kitchen tek- huge success!

h2o2 great stuff for cleaning up wild mushrooms. I put this whole Trametes in a 3% h202 for 30sec then chopped up and put on h202 plates. it took a few days to start growing and a week to get to the edge of a 90mm plate. yep peroxide does slow the growth. the next transfer on to a non-h2o2 and this thing unleashed itself. this is a 90mm plate, 36hrs after the transfer. actually is scares me, I don't know what I have captured.

didn't get a chance to go bush last weekend, to much culture work at home. rain and more rain here now and the warmth is still hanging around. great thing hey. I did get chance to have a look around the farm I work. and this is what I came up with, more research. this I believe is Crepidotus mollis. found on a living redgum on a old scar of dead wood. this was found on fallen limb of a grey box (eucalyptus), right up underneath. no clue to what is or were to start. was about 15 cm across. and these on a really old 30 cm log hiding in the grass, that had more cracks in it than my great grand mother. going to print and dissect tomorrow to better document.

what's around this time of year

nothing better than getting out there and exploring. you may find something you never seen before or even better, nobody has seen before. take a camera and suck in that beautiful air. and keep your best mushy spots to yourself, just like your best fishing spots. best of luck and enjoy, and you will.

Gymnopilus junonious seems to be the closest I have come to identifying the yellow one. thanks mutant. the cap seems to have more a striped pattern. other picks I've searched seem to have a scale pattern?. have not see yet in any groups yet, but its been light on the rain here over last month until the last few days. going for a another look around this weekend. found some Trametes versicolour on my mates old wood pile today. so I took some good limbs home. happy I am.

got a chance last weekend to have a look around the banks of the Goulbourn river banks (Victoria) in some of the more, untouched areas of bush. came across several of these. white spore print. Xerula I believe. also found several of these. tan colour spore print. this one the largest (70mm cap) was growing under a fallen red gum. and these were growing on top of the same log. cross section

    looking for cultures or prints

I am excited I got a trade happening. at last I may have reishi- ganodera lucidum (my favourite daily tonic). this is my 3rd attempt for this culture, I am feeling lucky this time. and shiitake 75 strain is a may have. I would like to change cordyceps sinerisis to cordyceps sinclairii.

    looking for cultures or prints

I am looking to get a collection together. I find a individual mushroom is a pane in the but to find. so I have put a list of edibles and medicals together, I wish to grow. I have a number of growing spaces now, for individual parameters. I don't mind prints. I understand the numbers game to produce a strain and I have time and the space. anybody that can help me now will be rewarded in the future, with the best I have free. the P value of culture if you have would be great, but if not known, that's ok. will be taking most back to print in the future, when time and space permits, to compare. so if anybody body is looking to reslant or can pull out there goodies for me. or have prints. money is no issue. just pm what u have, I will make a generous offer. anyway this is my list, in the order of most wanted. reishi- ganodera lucidum nemeco-pholiota nameco black poplar-agrocye aegerita cordyceps sinensis shiitake 75 strain turkey tail-Trametes versicolour King Stropharia-Stropharia rugoso-annulata Agaricus augustus agaricus blazei

    king stropharia comin along

good stuff, you started from a print. if you are after someone to test any of your isolates, if you have a few different ones. getting a good strain can be a real numbers game. the more numbers you have the higher the chance. but saying this you can be lucky.
  23. got 2 spare plates of this puffball 3/4 across the plate. I am gunna try growing in the lawn here. this guy was still had as rock a this size. also few spare plates of this oyster. done 5 of these Sunday for a trade, they are all jumping real well. so looks like I will have a few spare.
