we cut the flowering tops (quite a lot- a handfull +) and thro them fresh into a tea pot then, add just boiled water, and let infuse for 5-10 minutes. If you use just a cup or mug make sure to sit a lid or saucer on top, or otherwise some of the goodies (volatile oils etc) can escape as steam. we mainly use Krishna Tulsi (roundish large purple/green slightly hairy leaves with purple stems), with a bit of Kapoor Tulsi for aromatics & sometimes some Vana for specifics (ie sore gums, throat etc)

i reckon... let those big branches flop free (if it was mine i would even prune them off, but hey they would be worth layering like Ethy suggests if you wanna make more), those new shoots at the bottom is where she really wants to concentrate on now, and if they get the auxin preferences they will take off. they are a bit like D. hopwoodii in the way they like to do this sometimes. ...in the ground, no ties, no stakes.

ffs, theres already well enough of this "i dont agree/believe in/accept/tolerate this view that is contrary to mine, i dont like it and dont understand it" fundamendalist type reactionary shit impacting the world right now without having to bring it here! chill a brew would possibly loosen you up somewhat.

i reckon with these its best to keep the staus quo if they are going well. They dont seem to mind staying in smallish pots & they dont seem too fond of change in any conditions. As ethy says, other life forms like them too so be vigilant.

if your acuminata looks anything like that, then you have something else.

you may as well stack em deep. if they do stop & search you and find something early on they are not going to stop there you know. You will still get a full shake and rip, just with more justified vigour & enthusiasm.

you have most likely lost the soil bacteria which is essential for it being able to nitrogen fix. (ie. its a legume, family fabacaea) yeah, and as bullit pointed out, nothing to be gained by giving it nitrogen. ...and i doubt wether your "powerfull" summer sun up there would have been the cause of phyllode crisping, unless it went straight from inside plant zoo to full rays.
