thux Posted October 13, 2005 Hello, I'm very interested in these kind of succulents. But I'm confused about that I've read here something about the Oxalic-Acid contain of Delosperma Bosseranum and Aptenia Cordifolia. In germany, where I'm from, these plants are very unknown. The only information I get is, that these plants just contains a very low ammount of oxalic acid. I've got a few plants and chewed some leaves, but never felt something like an Oxalic Acid toxication. Now I wanna harvest whole plants(including roots) but I'm unsure if I must ferment it? greetings -thux
Torsten Posted October 13, 2005 Different species contain different amounts of oxalic acid, so maybe not all would require fermentation. The problem is we don't know which ones might be OK and which ones aren't.
