dracos6 Posted September 5, 2005 Cane toads show fatal attraction for disco lights A new study has found cane toads are drawn to disco lighting. A trial of cane toad traps about 120 kilometres south of Darwin has found the toads are attracted to a light known as black light blue. Frogwatch coordinator Graeme Sawyer says it is usually used in nightclubs. "We've tried red and blue moving lights and that didn't work, but the black-light disco one seems to be working a treat," he said. He says the trap with the special lighting has caught 139 toads over 10 days which is more than three times the number caught in any of the area's other traps. The designs will now be rotated to see if the results are consistent. -------- bufotenine rave toad?
