Monk Posted December 12, 2007 Found it. It is Piper auritum. The 3-methoxy-4,5-methylenedioxallylbenzene is present in the roots. Nice. I've got a nice patch of this developing in the back yard It's interesting that I've been getting gut (stomach chakra) feeling about the roots ever since I planted them. I thought it was their relation to kava that made me wonder, but maybe the plants were trying to tell me something. Sounds like the roots have around the same concentration of oils as the leaves - not a lot, but good contents.
