VINS Posted January 13, 2004 if you are in australia, it is maybe best not to import these prohibited seeds. try to ask some australian members and if it don't work, then pm me your adress and i will send you what you requested (except h&c). Rev Posted February 5, 2004 If you had a permit to do so id urge you to grow one variety ata time at least until you learn te basics of cultivation and saving pure seed heads H and C is popular but no one i have spare seed of. I have kilos of Tasmanina bread seed poppy but thats the mixed morphine thebaine variety sold in the shops i assume you mean the pre 1990's variety
Alcaline Posted February 6, 2004 Reville, what do you mean by "pure seed heads"? I hear that P. somniferum reproduct mainly by self pollination. So cross pollination (between different flowers) rarely occur! Do you agree with that ??
waterdragon Posted February 6, 2004 cross pollination is very common. many times i have received seeds as pure only to find many variables, this is not always a bad thing. early in the morning the bees are dancing from flower to flower and it makes crosses inevitable unless the breeders are bagged.
