Salvi Posted September 15, 2005 Well, the summer will soon be over here, and I'm not sure where I'm going to put all of my cacti. I was wondering if they would be alright if they were kept in a cool, dark basement. Will they etiolate or grow at all if I hardly water? As long as they're dormant, do they still need good light? Btw, I'm mostly talking about trichs. Thanks.
Gunter Posted September 15, 2005 I keep mine in a cool room with little light, they do fine as long as you don't let them shrivel too much and as long as you keep the temp low. I keep them below 60°ƒ, that is about 16°C BTW. [ 15. September 2005, 02:01: Message edited by: Archaea ]
Salvi Posted September 15, 2005 Thanks for the fast reply. My basement will probably be around 65 degrees F. Hopefully this will be alright..
faslimy Posted September 15, 2005 not all columnars do as well as Trichocereus in a cold dark basement through winter.
