Happy Cadaver Posted July 13, 2005 Grabbed some cuttings of this beast today, its quite heavily armed. I was thinking Stenocereus sp. but have to trawl thru some images. Anyone seen it before?

faslimy Posted July 13, 2005 very pretty, I say it is not a griseus but Stenocereus pruinosus this is clearly the same plant however it is labeled Stenocereus griseus, I think it should probably be called pruinosus. strangebrew Posted July 14, 2005 Stenocereus griseus has shorter spines I think but it too can have those beautiful red-spined tips from memory.

Andrew Posted July 20, 2005 Cool now I now what I,ve got here, had one for a fewe years.but the spines on mine are a bit redder than those in the picture. They dont like as much nwater as trichs as I found out in all that rain we,ve had with a couple of black death spots appearing that are now healing.
