Flange Posted November 5, 2004 Cactii have always been alittle too scary looking for me, mustve fallen on one as a kid or something, but im looking to add my first to my garden. Peyote an San pedro are all the rage apparently but is there any milder an easy to grow varietys anyone would recomend? Cheers
hebrew Posted November 5, 2004 Trichs are easy to grow and are great in the garden, i also find lophs easy to grow as well. i love my cacti and am constanly on the look out for new additions, i see you are in melbourne and i like to go and see the man at the vic markets on sundays he often has good bargains. I recently picked up a 1.5 metre scop for 40 bucks.
smogs Posted November 5, 2004 you cant beat a san pedro for esay first cactus they do very well... hard to over or under water and grow quite quickly the bet way to start tho is just to go to a market and see what looks good and take it from there seeds sound daunting but are very easy to germinate and CHEAP.. u can get 20seeds for $1.70 as opposed to 5bucks per plant this guy is really good www.cactus-seeds.com so many diff types of seeds! and hes really fast you have to be patient tho as they grow very slowly! and take about 1year to get to a size you can think about potting up seperately
