Myrtillo?

Recommended Posts

Looks like a dehydrated Trichocereus terscheckii

the ribs would normally be convex not concave

the spine cluster formation is identical to one I have here. However the number of ribs seems less for the size shown, mine is 1.5m with about 14 ribs.

Sorry on second thoughts definately not enough ribs to be Trichocereus terscheckii but spine definately similar.

My tersckeckii have recurved spines

Certainly resembles a Myrtillocactus though doesnt it

One thing i noticed about the Adelaide gdns was that everything in the cactus gdns looked Nitrogen deficient

Looks like it needs a bag of blood n bone or even just Urea spread around

My thoughts exactly in regards to the nitrogen deficiency. I don't think anything's been done to the soil for years. Considering Adelaide's climate, they could and should have a first rate desert garden.

This is the terscheckii. It hasn't got any spines for some reason? This doesn't have any label at all!

The first one is Stenocereus griseus. A flower would easily determine it.

The other would appear to be T. terscheckii, a species which with age seems to thin out in regards to spines.
