Gollum Posted April 23, 2004 I have looked at a lot of peyote pics and was wondering why some of the pics you see are of massive clumps of peyote taking up the whole pot and some you see are big single buttons? Are they different varieties? Or is it because heaps of big ones have been cut off and created a mass of pups?

Guest electro Posted April 23, 2004 its because the buttons are 2-10 years old and the big things are hundreds of years old ... or have been grafted then re rooted.... something the diameter of a 10 c piece is about 4 years old unless it has been grafted for a while in its life. there are also 2 (at least) strains of loph.williamsi ... one spreads & sort of looks like a cowpat made of cactus (i cant explain it any better than this ... msomeone else jump in and explain what i mean lol), the other gets bigger & puts out pups that put out pups etc etc [ 22.
