MeneerCactus Posted May 6, 2002 High There, I have been growingthem for 8 years or so and never have seen a flower. You did not mention the temp in the rest periode! This must be quite cool. I am also hoping this year to see some flowers. Some are old enough now. Peace, Eric
mr b.caapi Posted May 7, 2002 hi eric, seven years with no flowers...hmmmm the temps in perth for the rest season range from around 2-8 degrees overnight to around 12-18 during the day... i wonder if there is anything to stimulate bud growth?
Guest reville Posted May 8, 2002 I think someone else got it close when they said they need a dry winter / wet summer In other words youll be hard pressed to ever see flowers The guy i got mine off had them 12 years and only the limbs flowered when he cut them off and relpanted them. my guess is that th moisture deprivation after cutting played the same role as a dry winter. Im keeping a few of them in tubs now. we'll see
