SS Bridgesii, are they common from seed?

Recommended Posts

I have two bridgesii, both purchased as seed grown plants from garden world (as peruvianus but definitely bridgesii). One has some nice gnarly spine action and the other is short spined. Theyve both had identical conditions since ive had them, be it neglect, soil, Ive always repotted them at the same time, cut them at the same time, i treat them like brothers.

anyway back to my point, iin peoples experience sowing large amounts of bridgesii seed are short spined plants common?

just to clarify, it is quite different in appearance to the regular short spined bridgesii that gets around oz, which im pretty sure was found at fields growing as a hybrid from fallen fruit amongst a psycho0 clump and distributed by PD originally.

edit- both plants were identical when i bought them as seedlings

Nice plants! And no, short spined Bridgesiis arent common. But they arent extremely rare either. But it´s definitely cool and I cant wait to see how they´ll look when they are bigger.

Yeah, those are both very nice plants!

Is it OK for others to post their short spined bridgesii in your thread?

If so, this one was bought along with other 10 bridgesii seedlings, grown in the same conditions as others all of which have longer spines (6+ hours of full sun, regular watering and feeding).

This is the short spined bridgesii that PD was passing around a couple of years ago, it originates from a patch of Psycho0 in Strathmerton (Cactus country)
