MrWormwood Posted February 4, 2015 Corydalis Yanhuso seeds wanted. I wonder why they are so hard to find? does anyone know?
gtarman Posted February 4, 2015 It's generally not propagated by seed, but by the tuberous root...that's why. I was looking for this plant a while back, and searched pretty thoroughly. I only found one place in China that sold the living roots but it would be such a crapshoot to get them into the country with lots of legal hoops to jump through, and at the end it's just too much trouble. Especially given that it may be quite harmful to the liver in only somewhat higher than standard doses if I remember correctly from my research into the plant. If you UTSE and find my old posts about it it might help you look. I think yanhusuo is actually not the species name, but the traditional name. From memory I remember the actual species name being different, possibly even two different species. But it should all be in my old posts somewhere on here.
