J Smith Posted December 7, 2014 I bought this from the nursery at the Big Banana a couple of years ago. At the time I thought it may have been a young trich as it was a single column, but over time it threw out a heap of pups without growing any taller. I noticed this red flower this morning.

0 J Smith Posted December 7, 2014 Thanks, my google research suggests the oxygona flower tubes are long while these are very short. For reference, the sides of the square pot it is in are 11 cms. It could very well be a hybrid. I have another, It'll be interesting to see what colour its flowers are.

0 ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted December 7, 2014 (edited) i wish i knew them more, im only 2-3 years into studying cacti and i chose opuntia ficus indica as a main priority, trichos and pelecyph as complete-set genus goals, and studying them as close to 24-7 as poss -went slightly up the echinopsis path so far ... but i think ive finished collecting non-tricho echinopodes (or however a correct plural would match that meaning -lol).... until I can tell them apart better the only lobivia i have, (one on the right)turned out to be a huasca/grandiflorus/possibly hybrid and that was a relief and an un-hook personally from the commitment to that genus and it's -what i can only describe as- confusion. 0 Evil Genius Posted December 7, 2014 It´s a Lobivia or Pseudolobivia. Rather the Latter, but they were merged with Lobivia. Could be Lobivia Schieliana or something similar. There really are a whole lot of them. But they are awesome for breeding! Some of the rarest and most beautiful hybrids i have are Pseudolobivia.
